  • Hi again,

I've just come back to this issue after leaving it for a few months (non-urgent :) ), but have a new though: since Three offer All-You-Can-Eat Data including tethering, they might be a better option for me.

Question is...is there any way to negotiate a reduced tariff with them on the basis of my existing spend with O2? Or is that hoping for too much? :)

    Thanks!

You get a 'budget' on your account that allows for discounts or extra allowances.

With the iPhone there isn't too much discount to be had. The only discount you'lll get is on the handset cost but its highly unlikely to be free. Only on the highest tariff. Discount on handset depends on tariff too.. lower tariff usually offer higher discounts on the iphone..

Most agents will offer the 'best' straight away, lots of people say keep calling but that's a waste of time normally.
  • Many thanks for that - I'll bear it in mind when talking with O2 again.

Main question is still open, though: if I can prove my O2 spend with Three, am I likely to get an improved deal with them as a new customer - as in, on top of their normal new customer deals? Or is this not even worth asking for?

    Thanks!
  • Hi Posterwall

I would say you are very unlikely to get any discounts with 3 because of your O2 spend. You are better to try and get a good deal with O2 as you are a loyal customer to them they will be more willing to offer you more.

I do know they wont budge on a iphone, this is because all the contracts etc are set by Apple and the shops etc have no room to alter anything.

3's coverage has gone pants, I have been with them since 2006. It used to be great but since late last year I wouldnt recommend them, Im in fact leaving them in june. Three also dont reward existing customers like they used to, so doubt they will you either.
  • Hi, got this deal last year through MSE/TCB, 12 mth contract is due to end at the end of the month, don't use anywhere near the 1200 mins I have, is O2 simplicity my best option, am I missing a forum elsewhere, I can't find anything posted.

Having read recent posts I did not hold out to much hope for a good deal. However this is what I have been offered. Free HTC HD7,500 min, unlimited landline calls, unlimited texts, 500mb data £25.00 pm. I was on a simplicy £10.00 tariff. Is this a good deal ?

It is Windows 7 phone, I would do some research on that, there have been problems with it recently.

If I was in your situation I'd stick to the simplicity £10.00 tarriff. How many minutes do you get on that?
  • How long is the contract for?
