  • I ve had an email from O2 saying i can upgrade 3 months early and can, as an existing customer, have a 12 month contract. Does anyone know what these 12 months contracts are like ? There is no mention of them on the o2 website

Does anyone know if it is more profitable for O2 (how?) if we get our contracts through Carphone Warehouse or Phones4U rather than direct? As i can find cheaper deals elsewhere with O2 than directly but i don't understand how this benefits O2 more than retaining customers directly.

They are very expensive , and the initial cost of the handset is high.

Well, I managed to actually get a deal out of retentions today.

I was going to go for tescos 4s deal, 12 months, £25 a month, 250mins. £335 for the handset.

I got my pac last week but like an idiot deleted it, so called back to have it sent again, was offered this.

    300 mins
    free 02 to 02
    unlimited txt
    500meg data
    £300 for the phone.
    £27 per month.

I know a lot of people think the 4s is stupid cash etc but it was the phone I wanted and this deal works out at £624 over the year, a whole £1 less than tesco, and only £4 more than if I bought the phone outright and got a £10 giffgaff sim.

    So, I'm happy.

I'm going to try and get them to match the £25 Tesco BB9900 deal tomorrow... fingers crossed!
  • Well, I managed to actually get a deal out of retentions today.

I was going to go for Tescos IPhone 4s 32gb deal, 12 months, £35 a month, 750mins. £300 for the handset.

I got my pac last week but like an idiot deleted it, so called back to have it sent again, was offered this.

    12 mth contract
    800 mins
    20 free pic msgs
    free 02 to 02
    unlimited txts
    500meg of data
    £273.59 for 32gb phone.
    £35 per mth.

Not a bad deal me thinks, plus should have it by Tuesday instead mid/end of November if I'd of waited for Tesco.
    2010 Quidco Cashback = £255.00 :D

Well, o2 managed to stuff my order up. No minutes added, no o2-o2 added etc. And no phone ordered. Just a change to a tarrif I didn't agree too.

So called today to tell em to shove it and go with tesco. Apoligised and offered me this

    £37
    12 month contract.
    500 mins
    02 to 02
    unlimited texts
    500mb
    16gig 4S for £166.

Total cost for the year is £610. So about £45 cheaper than the tesco deal.
