It's still there for the iphone ( £15.32 because of increased VAT) - which tariff was it?

    http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/simplicity/iphone/12_months

It was a 12month smart phone one - pretty much the same as the iphone one

Just called to cancel my rolling contract with O2 since i've changed to an Android handset. O2 could not offer any more than 500mb of data which i thought was really poor (though i'm unlikely to use anywhere near that on a regular basis) considering T-mobile offer 1GB or 3GB on an android phone, as well as more minutes and texts.

Seems O2 have recently been told off by OFCOM about their coverage and data network too.

Does it matter which one you get? I can't see what the difference between an iphone tariff and a smartphone tariff would be.

I don't know if it does.

I've spoken to o2 and they said the £15 12 month smart phone simplicity tariff has gone!

Might be best waiting until near the end of my contract

Does anyone know the answer to this?

My current simplicity deal expired yesterday and it's ridiculous you have to pay more if you don't have an iphone?

I have an HTC Desire and a worse deal is costing me £20, compared to the iphone tarrif on £15.

I would happily change network but I have O2 Home Phone/Broadband.

The thing is they had the same deal for smartphones at £15 on Tuesday, but by Wednesday this had gone!

My b/f is with o2 and we have mobile internet (dongle) and home internet and phone with them. I'm seriously considering the tesco £10 sim onlydeal.

Only thing that puts me off is that o2 have always been good - their retentions are just a bit rubbish at the moment and they don't treat simplicity customers as proper customers! You stil have to buy the top up when you buy a new phone - well, that's useless to me!

Yeah I'm going to leave myself rolling for now. My fiancee is with O2 but all of our account details are separate and I pay for home phone/broadband.

I'll wait and see if I can get an answer about the iPhone tariff, failing that I may phone O2 and ask. I really don't know why the tariff wouldn't work with any smart phone.

O2 retentions as you say is rubbish at the moment. I have just obtained my PAC from them. When asked why I was leaving I told them about the Tesco deal and she tried to get me to have their £10 deal which includes no data allowance - fat lot of use on an iphone!

I would have gone with the Tesco deal but O2 signal is not good at work and I've had to put up with it these last 18 months. I'm looking at Vodafone as signal is good both at home and work - their traiff is £15.32pm for SIM only.
  • my boyfriend got his pac code from o2 today after leaving his simplicity deal would agree they dont seem to treat them like real sutomers the deal he got offered is straight of the website and is £5 more than what he said he was going to with 200 less minutes!

i now dont know what to do about our broadband as we need to change our phoneline and adding £5 to broadband is too much theyve prob lost us for mobile phone and broadband now!

You will find O2 BB will want to retain your custom and can do something about the discount that you are losing - at least that was what one adviser told me when I asked.

In the end I have given my son's O2 number for my discount.
