    I have gone over to T-Mobile 12 month Sim, 600 Mins, Unlimited Text & 3Gb internet.....£7.50 a month!!!!!!

Same here! My 12 month sim only deal expired in sept for I was paying £20 for 800 mins, ultd texts and most importantly unlimited internet (subject to fair use!) NOT the 500mg which came into effect recently.

Will miss the ultd net but I would have been stuck paying £20 forever more with the knowledge I would have to foregoe it to get any kind of different deal but 3Gb will more than make up for it.

I was on £20 for unlimited internet, texts and 600 minutes and spent on average £26 per month.

Finally bit the bullet and signed-up to a 24 month deal with:
    HTC Desire
    500 minutes
    Unlimited O2 to O2
    500 meg internet
    Unlimited wi-fi
£30 PCM - would have been £25 without the wi-fi (although I can take this off in the future).

He confirmed also that there is no additional cost for going-over 500meg - "just" restricted service, which seems better than the sanctions that some networks impose.

I know I could get a "better" deal elsewhere on other networks (and possibly even on O2 with Carphone Warehouse or Phones4U?) but I've had great customer service from O2 directly and discounted broadband and don't consider it an unreasonable price.

I also tried T-Mobile and Orange PAYG SIMS and the reception was terrible on Orange. The only thing that turned my head was the excellent T-Mobile £7.50 deal which I'm sure will have been a fantastic contract for many people.

Thanks to everyone who has updated on the O2 thread and good luck to those haggling for new deals!
  • Wow, just got of the phone from upgrades, who tried to flog me a Samsung Galaxy S for 35 quid a month on a 2 year contract and i'd need to pay towards the phone.

When i asked to speak to retentions, they said they were the same department now! It's like she couldn't wait to send me my PAC.. i think i'll try tomorrow when it's not 10 minutes before the end of the shift :)

Time for me to phone tomorrow. Apparently my 18 month contract is only 16 months in until tomorrow so they wouldn't accept my cancellation the other day.

They asked why I was wanting to leave when I could and I said I had a much better offer, so they said they'll match a deal elsewhere on Friday and he asked what it was, so I said unlimited texts, net (which I know o2 won't offer me now) and 150 mins for £10. He said phone back Friday and they'll see what they can do... Going by this thread, I guess they won't!

    What goes around-comes around
  • I got my chocolate bar yesterday. And my PAC code today. Retentions could not offer me anything better than the standard simplicity £10 deal. Bye O2!

They offered me £10 Sim Only 300 mins, Unlimited o2 to o2 (on average 150 of the 179 minutes I use a month are to o2) and Unlimited texts. I said I can't sign a deal without internet, so he said it's £5 more. Tried to get it for £12.50 or instead of the o2 to o2 but they wouldn't do it, he said he understands from looking at my account it's all texts and net but that's the best he can do, so I'm off...

If it wasn't for internet I think that's a pretty reasonable deal, but I will need internet for sure and can make do with only having 150 minutes that I'm going to get on o2 (if I get close I'll just dropcall people....or text them with my unlimited texts!! :D)
  • hmm. nope. Tried again, no better this time either - sounds like there is no such thing as the retention department anymore

yes no retention offers worth the name.
12 month sim only to come to end in 1 month.
rang up for offers--was told offers are same as on line.
NO offers to stay. on top of that arrogant call centre rep. despite me being extremely polite.
asked for PAC and was sent the PAC in 15 min. flat.
at least they are good at giving the PAC easily.....guess they have got good at it ...
off to tesco sim 1 month rolling contract---500min +unlimited texts+data+£TCB(online special deal for limited time)
