Just tried to get an upgrade for the missus as she's about to come out of contract.

Enquired about a refurbished iPhone 3G S, 8GB, and was told that O2 no longer do refurbs for upgrade customers.

    Anyone heard this before?

    Regards.
  • Hey everyone thought I would post regarding my contract.

I am on the 02 online simplicity 20 (rolling 30 day). It was originally 600 minutes 1200 txt and I had the free web bolt on added.

I saw on facebook a limited offer for 700 mins 1400 txt so I emailed 02 and got my contract upgraded for no extra charge.

I have recently bought a Samsung galaxy S, it cost me £340 off ebay, pretty steap yes but it seems I cant find anything out there that can beat my current contract.

However with that being said, I think T-mobile are coming pretty close.Do you think I have a leg to stand on phoning 02 and trying to get my contract knocked down to £15 a month? It would make a huge difference over 24 months (most deals I have found that match my current are 24 months so I use this as a baseline) and my decision to buy a phone outright truly awesome.

Also, the unlimited web bolt on seems to have changed so much over the last year any information on what the actual limit of this is? My 02 account is saying:

Bolt On Cost Status End date Unlimited Web Bolt On Free Active No end date
If you signed up from 24 June 2010, data tariffs and Bolt Ons will have a generous monthly data allowance with an unlimited data promotion until 30 September 2010

Phoned yesterday, and was just told that they were out of stock, not that they didn't offer them?

I was wondering if anyones been caught out renewing their contract regarding the new 20p per MMS message?

I noticed now you can get unlimited normal texts they've made MMS texts 20p...

Does anyone know if their is a tariff that avoids this? or is this now the norm for all providers?
  • This thread should be called "Ive been with o2 XX years and got nothing on renewal"

    Lol...."i got nuffink"
  • I am due for a upgrade from O2 but they don't seem intrested in my business, I have 2 contracts and broadband paying over £50 per month to them but they are not willing to upgrade me to the phone i want and the price I want to pay.
Have been a customer for nearly 10 years in one disguise or another but they cannot get anywhere near to T-Mobile on the phone I want (nearly £10 a month out).
Spoke to the retentions dept who although very polite seem to have their hands tied by the marketing dept.
Personally think O2 are only bothered in getting new customers into to signing up to their home phone package and nothing else, have requested my migration code and will be looking to a new MOBILE PHONE supplier, sorry for O2.
  • Hi there

O2 are well known for this; they give their existing customers exactly the same deal they would a new customer, but they just give the existing customers first refusal. There's nothing you can do about this unfortunately.

  • keep phoning them back.. you'll get different people who will be in better moods :)

Last year a i managed a free phone (rather than 99 quid), 15 pounds off my monthly tarrif and free home broadband.

Yeah, that was last year. This is this year. Nearly everybody got good deals last year. No one is getting good deals this year.
