4 years would mean you out of minimum term so they can change it at 30 days notice. You are beyone minimum terms so theres no issues of fee's or compensation for breaking the minumum term periods.
Unfortunatly your choice is take it, change to a different contract or go PAYG or leave O20 -
I agree with you on that one. I had a £35 per month contract with o2 - 600 mins, 1000 text, free internet bolt on and £15 per month loyalty discount, so got all of the above for £20.
I was really happy with this, and wanted to keep the same contract, but get a new phone. They said the loyalty discount was a special offer at the time I last renewed, and I would have to go back to paying £35 per month! Seems a bit off they will reward 18 months of loyalty, but if I continue to be loyal for another 18 months I lose the loyalty discount!
They didn't even try and persuade me to stay when I asked for my pac code. Very disappointing o2!0 -

I've just had a similar experience. I got the same deal with a N95 8GB 18 months ago but only a £10 loyalty discount (so £25 a month). I wanted to get the Samsung Galaxy S, but they wanted £50 for the phone and £35 a month for 24 months. Even when I told them that Vodafone had a better deal (£30 a month and free phone) they said they couldn't do any better.
I've got my PAC code now and will be looking for a new network. 4+ years as a Pay Monthly customer and was PAYG since they were BT Cellnet0 -
wow, at least they offered you the phone for £50! was also on Online 35 with a £15 discount, so paying £20 a month.
disconnections person offered me £35 a month (18 months) and a samsung galaxy s for £129.99
also got offered a refurb iphone 3g for £26 a month (24 month contract)....rubbish....
new network here i come :-) Dialaphone look good!0 -
After 7 years of great service, o2 are now dead, they are to big for there own boots and will pay for this soon. I left last month for vodafone!Kind Regards

Just thought I would post my experiences with o2 retentions. I was on 1200mins, 1000 texts, unlimited o2-o2, unlimited landlines and unlimited data. For this I was paying £37.50 per month. I wasn't using all of my 1200 mins, so wanted less mins, but to keep my o2 calls. In the end after 4 phone calls I got the dell streak, 600 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited o2, and unlimited data for £40 per month, on an 18 month contract. Nowhere near the bargain I had last time, but better than I thought I would get. The sales girl said that if I find myself running out of minutes, I can change my talkplan to the 900 minute one for an extra fiver per month, and I wouldn't lose my o2 calls.
Hope this helps someone.0 -
Heya Davey, when u say 'unlimited data', is that just wifi data or 3G/edge data?Target Savings: Deposit on my first property by September 2010>>>[Savings: 40.00% Complete]<<<[Debt: £0.00p]0

Just phoned for my PAC code. 3 years with o2 at minimum £20/month. No attempt to convince me to stay, just said it will be sent within 24 hours. Oh well, I'm sure someone else wants my money instead.0

Not sure about wifi, but yes it includes 3g/edge etc, and of course unlimited isn't actually unlimited with o2. I think it is 500mb.0 -
