  • Bit of advice ...... hate this time of year to upgrade but its gonna be done

Now on 1200 mins, 1200 txts, unlimited t'internet with Ignito phone £25 p/m

they've said i cannot get that tarrif anymore... no way !!!
I dont use them mins anyway so it doesnt bother me that they wanna drop them

But been offered the new Sony Ericcson Vivaz , 300 mins , unlimited txt, unlimited internet £25 for 2 yrs. Is this any good ? It just worries me that its going to 2 yrs now. It seems a bloody long time :-/

Any thoughts guys ?? Greatly appreciated. Btw i dont mind swapping to another network if there is a better tarrif :-) or even better still a good cash back on quidco :-P
  • Not sure fella. It really boils down to whether you are happy to accept that.
  • o2 won't offer me anything at all now - they said as I have a 40% discount last year they won't offer me anything this year. Niiiice.

I was previously on an 18 month contract at £20 a month, 600mins, 800texts, Unlimited web and free Ignito phone.

I called today and wasn't too keen on any phones they currently have and was offered a 24 month contract, £20 a month, 500mins, Unlimited Texts, Unlimited Web and £150 credit on my account.

Pretty weak in my opinion, my previous deal was better for my uses.

    yep same here
  • I'm due for renewal in a few months time.

Have an iPhone 3g which I'm paying £31.50pm for 1200 mins, 600 texts and unlimited Internet. I go absolutely nowhere near either of those, just use the Internet a lot more.

Reckon I might be able to haggle down on that? I'm quite tempted to get a Blackberry instead though.

I’m in the last month of my second contract (went to SIM only on the first as I wasn’t offered anything that wasn’t on their website ).

Rang retentions and asked what deal they could do on the HTC Desire. As it isn’t out until the 29th (and CS didn’t even know this without checking with someone else) I asked for my PAC. “OK” she said – no problem and didn’t try to offer any other deals or sweeteners at all.

I don’t know how many customers O2 have lost over the past few months but I don’t think they’re doing themselves any favours with their ‘take it or leave it’ attitude.

Yeah been hearing about this myself recently, i'm just holding onto my simplicity tariff until I hear who gets the next iphone, or jump ship to Vodafone when the Microsoft Kin's come out.
:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!

Just called, as I'm in my last month of an 18 month contract.
I'm currently on 75 mins, 250 texts and have only once exceeded the 75 mins.
I've listed the deals offered for info, all unlimited texts and sim only:

100 mins, monthly term, £10/month, no loyalty credit

300 mins, 12 months, £10/month, no loyalty credit

    100 mins, 24 months, £15/month, £150 loyalty credit (cost becomes £8.75/month)

    50 mins, 24 months, £10/month, £150 loyalty credit (cost becomes £3.75/month)

... he said that's it, retentions wouldn't offer me better as my usage is low, hence why I asked for the cheapest (50 minute) deal. The unlimited texts is of no real interest to me, it's unusual if I go into double figures in a month. I asked to be put through to retentions, but he said that very few people are now passed through unless they are high users.

I asked about including a phone ... he suggested the Nokia 6303, reducing the loyalty credit on the latter two deals to £50.
I checked this online and it makes it the same price as just starting again via Quidco with mobiles.co.uk. Plus, mobiles.co.uk can offer a £40 non-redemption cashback or 10 months free if I am prepared go back to all that redemption cashback malarkey, which I've steered clear of for the past three years.

I rang O2 back to advise them and 'clarify the contract cancellation process' and he just said to ask for my PAC when ready, no attempt to retain at all.

    Hi

18 months ago i decided to do an upgrade with o2 on the Xda Ignito, this is what i got for £35 per month:

    Free phone
    600 minutes cross network
    1000 text
    unlimited o2 to o2 calls
    unlimited landline calls
    unlimited internet
    long weekends

i tried to upgrade but they want me to drop 2 of my bolt ons, so ive decided to stick to my tariff and just save up for a new handset no matter how long it takes!

I am getting £30 worth of bolt ons for free, so it would be pretty stupid for me to drop that for the sake of a new phone

    what do you guys think?
