What happens if I come to the end of my contract and I haven't renewed/upgraded? Do I revert to the I monthly Simplicity plan?

Your contract becomes a 30 day rolling one with the terms and conditions at the time you signed up still valid. I am sorry I don't know whether you keep your discount. From what i have read on here it seems you don't. Hope this helps.

    I'm currently due for renewal.

I'm currently on Online 35 with £10 discount (18 Months). I also have o2 broadband which I am also getting at discount (£2.99 per month).

I want the Nokia X6 which is available for free on the Online 35, however looks like they want to remove my contract discount (broadband discount will be unaffected).

I tried the retentions reps who basically said they can't stay as low as £25 per month but can renegotiate my contract so I have less minutes etc (which I never use anyway) but for £30 per month instead.

Ideally I'd usually leave over this however I don't want to lose my significant broadband discount (which I can't find a better price anywhere else).

So effectively, my price would be going up by £5 per month for the mobile and broadband combo.

In theory I could cancel my phone and broadband (which will cost £33 per month) and then subscribe to Virgin and get the same phone and package for £25 per month and get broadband with Plusnet for £6 per month - thereby making my new combination total £31 per month)

Do you reckon I should just stick with o2 and save myself the hassle of having to get new mobile and broadband contracts elsewhere for the sake of saving about £2 per month)?

ETA: Looks like retentions are offering me nothing that is not available via the website. Nothing for loyalty then :mad:

This is odd because I was initially offered the Nokia X6 (free handset) for £15 per month.

I also receive broadband at a discounted rate (£2.50 per month) and have been receiving this rate for the last 18 months. I was thinking of moving to Be broadband (part of O2) and signing up via Quidco cashback if O2 hadn't have given me a good mobile phone retentions deal. They did though.

Brand new, no chance, apple set the tariffs so no room for negotiations. You might be lucky to bag a refurbished unit, but they go instantly when they do get them in.

There's "the cheapest iphone thread" on here, it's worth checking out.

  • Am on o2 already so...

    iphone 16GB 3GS

    £179
    £30pm Unltd txts/ 100 mins

The mins are fine really - I don't use a lot, and the txts are good.

    Seems pretty good to me
  • I am so shocked and a little angry. O2 have decided not to honour a retentions deal of free O2 broadband they gave me when I re-signed my mobile contract.
I was promised that I could take it up any time because I wasn't going to use it immediately.
Now the rep is saying the deal is not available to me anymore.

I said I was promised, blah, blah, blah, but nope.

They will not honour those deals.

Cross! I now have to start again and look for a moneysaving combo of TV, Broadband and phone. Not pleased at all.

Is there anything I can do other than vote with my feet come retentions time (very soon)??
