  • Upgraded to from XDA Ignito (HTC Touch Diamond) to HTC HD2 2 weeks ago.

Love the HD2 - its fantastic.

I just called O2, they said I could have it straightaway without any fuss.

I remain on my 1200 mins, 1000 texts and unlimited internet for £27 a month- 18 month contract

I have the same contract with the ol XDA IGNITO .... how does the new one differ? Was think ing of going back to a Samsung or changing to a Nokia ?

The Blackberry Bold 9700 is free on a tariff costing £25* a month for 300 mins unlimited texts and internet, its marked at £32.50 but there is £180 bill credit to cover the blackberry bolt on.

    Thats on o2's site.

and there is £150 for ordering via quidco so that leaves the average monthly cost £18.75 for 24 months

    • better interface
    • sound is better, I couldnt hear my diamond properly when on speaker
    • 3.5mm headphone jack, you can use your own headphones, you can charge and use headphones
    • has a Markeplace where you can download apps, loads free. I have been able to tweak the registry & customised to suit me
    • Virtual keyboard, bye bye stylus!
    • SD Card Memory

Hi I was just wondering if some one could help me. My daughters O2 contract is coming up for renewal soon and I would like to get hold of the retentions team to see what they will offer this year. The contract is in my name so I have to speak to them. I know I can call them free via the mobile, the only problem with that, is that my daughter is studying in Manchester and I am in Oxford!! I believe that there is a Lo-Call number available but I can find it. Thanks for any help.
    Nice to save.

    Last year I got:

200 mins, 400 texts, unlimited O2 to O2 calls, £150 credit, £15 pm discount (on £25 pm tariff = £10 pm), on an 18 month contract (with no phone).

Am in the last month of this contract so just phoned retentions now and got offered exactly what’s on the O2 website, no discount at all - with or without the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.

    So the fun begins again…

The retention offers offered to me this time around were very poor to say the least, even after ringing back quite a few times the deals i was being offered were not much better than the o2 online shop.

Got tired of trying to haggle and barter with them and have now jumped ship. Shame really as i found o2 CS to be very efficient, here's hoping the new network's CS are just as good.

    Regards

Same story here. been with them for over 5 yeras, this year they wanted to get rid of my 40% discount, so my contract went from £30 to £50. Then they didnt want to offer any decent phones (offered express music 5800, I bought one for my daughter a year ago). I have a blackberry and an average spend of £45. Not much of an upgrade from a business phone :rotfl:
Jumping ship with cash-back, not sure who yet, but it wont be 02.

    Regards

  • Its a bit hit and miss with O2. I had success, some other posters have too but it seems alot of people are not getting very good retention deals at the moment. It is a bit odd. Perhaps they calculate profit and loss coupled with the type of phone.

It seems some users are not as profitable as others and considering that they are losing customers due to this website.
