  • The £10 deal was an 18 month contact of the £25 offer; they discounted by £15 each month for lotalty

I'm currently on the contract as yours. And I need to upgrade soon as well. I hope to keep £10 deal and get £150 credit. Not interested in new phones.

I said would be happy for 18month contract with keeping the £10 deal and having £150 credit [like offered last time but got phone instead] but does not look like they will reduce the line rental. You would have to pay when its £25

Have you looked at upgrading online, does it give you any different options there?

no more £15 loyalty discount or whatever it called? O2 is so bad.
  • I have my O2 contract through the carphone warehouse which ran out last July - I have telephoned a couple times since the contract ended to see what sort of upgrade I could get. I was looking at the iphone 3GS but was offered something different and so haven't renewed the contract as yet. Into the new year now I have decided that I definitely want the iphone but I still assume O2/Carphone warehouse arent going to give me an upgrade. I phoned O2 to get my PAC number - I was told to write in to give notice which I have now done. I have received the PAC No. from O2 but was wondering if I should wait to hear from O2/Carphone Warehouse retentions dept - will I hear from them or is it better to get in contact with them. After receiving your PAC No. when do you hear from them?

My 18m contract with O2 ends in a month's time. I have not called the retention yet. By looking at all the discussion, it does not look like I am going to get the same good deal as last time (£25 minus £15 discount plus £100 cashback). I still want to stay with O2, because I travel a bit, and I can send texts back to UK mobiles free (1=4 of my allowance) from overseas. If I take out Simplicity, does the same text rule apply? And does anybody know which other network contract has a good tariff for sending text from abroad? Thanks in advance.

Yes you can send texts from abroad at the rate of 4:1 on the simplicity tariff.

O2 are good because the overseas texts come off your allowance as do picture messages so you dont pay any extra like on other networks
  • My contracts up for renewal and I have been trying to sort out a new phone/ contract. I have found them to be most unhelpful and really dont care one bit about keeping me as a customer.
I rang today and ater giving my details & quoting a t-mobile offer i got asked ' are you a t-mobile customer?' Ive just given you all my details!!! I have been with o2 for 6 years.
He then quoted me on deal on the HD2 and I said oh you pricematched and gave me the same deal as t-mobile last week? he said that the deal given is only given for the day its given. So i said, if I ring tomorrow I will get a better deal that what your offering me today? 'probably not'
How can they price match one day and not the next??

I had had friends who have told me the same thing about o2 not seeing to care. One friend got mis-sold a contract on the iphone then 2 months later they tryed to take it back off him...

It is just me or are o2 getting a bit big for there boots? They just dont seem to care about keeping current customers where as I have been told networks like Vodafone give a family & friends discount etc for staying with them.
