iphone 3gs 32gb (brand new)
£35/month tariff
18 month contract
for free - phone coming tomorrow. Was well worth persevering and the amount of calls made to o2 as this should have been £279. She first told me I could have the 16gb new for free but then I asked about the 32gb and she said I was in luck and I could have it for free, she said not many people are offered that.
The best I was offered before today was a 16gb refurb for free on 18 month £35/month or 16gb new phone free on £35/month 24 month contract.
Thats a very good deal, I just returned my iphone 16gb 3gs unopened as after thinking about it thought it was too expensive. That was free on a £35 pcm 24 month deal...was going to go iphone payg route but may try to renegotiate!0 -
I've seen a few people posting they've made numerous calls. Quick question, do you just put the phone down and call right back if you don't get a deal you're happy with? Or call over a number of days.
My mum was offered zip when it came to upgrade time. I'm due my own upgrade beginning of feb, ideally don't want to leave o2, since the rest of my family are on it. But given the lack of interest retentions are showing, I might have to.
I rang over a period from Christmas Eve to yesterday, so maybe 2/3 times a week.0 -

Go for it! I was expecting her to say no or say I had to pay loads like the previous people, I was so shocked when she said I could have it for free on an 18 month contract. Obviously, I said yes straight away. Her name was Rachel, keep ringing and hanging up until you get her :rotfl:0 -
O2 Retentions just not giving any good deals anymore - has anyone been given PAC straight away - I been told I need to write in - just seems a delay tactic to me.....thought this was normally to disconnect not to get a PACIn the words of Jerry Maguire "SHOW ME THE MONEY"0

See the thing is, I'm just not that patient. When it's time for renewal, I want it sorted, don't want to spend weeks thinking about it and trying to sort a deal.
I'll try a few calls over a few days this time, if I don't get anything decent I'll give up and go to t-mobile. T-mobile must be loving o2 right now lol.Sigless0 -

I called O2 on Tuesday, no effort made in 'retaining' me, I got the PAC code by text the day after.
I have now registered with T-Mobile at £30 p/m 18 months, 800 minutes, unlimited texts and web, and the phone I really wanted (HTC Hero) is on its way to me!
From reading this thread it sounds like O2 are losing loads of customers, they deserve it!
Goodbye O2!!!0 -

Goodbye O2!!!
OK tried again tonight - same reply - to disconnect or request PAC - need to be put in writing.....is CPW O2 rather than O2 if that makes any differenceIn the words of Jerry Maguire "SHOW ME THE MONEY"0 -
My contract finishes on 27th Feb. When can I phone to see what they will offer me?0

Im thinking of leaving 02 now aswell. I have been a contract customer for 5 years and have always been happy with the deals I have negotiated - NOT THIS TIME!!!!
October 2008, I phoned for an upgrade and was told I couldnt have the 'upgrade' phone to the one I had. I guess I just assumed I would get it as it was the latest model out with a few more extras to what I had had for the last 12 months. Anyway, I was paying £35 monthly but the phone was being offered for £45 minimum monthly so I could have it if I payed an extra £10. I had a look around and saw that Orange were offering that phone for the same £45 price but with extra mins and texts, so I got onto 02 and negotiated a deal but they wouldnt budge on the phone, Instead I could have a different phone but they would give me more mins and texts for £10 less each month. So I ended up pying £25 month for 600 mins and 1000 texts plus 02 unlimited calls bolt on, which was fine for me as all my family and majority of friends are 02. I took the deal. This year I waited until december to do my upgrade only to be told that I was on a 18 month contract!!!!! because I took the offer I had been put on 18 month without being told. Lady on phone told me I could upgrade via the phone on jan 16th (today!) so today I called and was told that I couldnt upgrade as I wasnt paying enough each month, My bills come in at around £29 a month, as I have insurance too. Had I paid over £30 I could upgrade today.... because I dont I cant upgrade til March 16th - My normal upgrade is April 16th anyway!!! Im peeved now so debating if its worth waiting til April and cancelling!!!!!0 -
