After all the mix up I am now getting -:

    (a) Nokia 5800 Xpress Music Red handset
    (b) 200 mins 200 Text (Discounted)
    (c) £15 per month for 24 months.

This also gives me opportunity of keeping my o2 money card and taking up their Broadband if Talk Talk gets too expensive.

I posted this on the main board - but think thread is more appropriate. sorry if that's not right - i'm new to this

    Hi
My contract runs out in a year with Orange after being with them for donkeys years. We moved a few months ago and unfortunately our reception in our flat is dreadful to non-existent.
I would really like a blackberry now, as I am self employed.
I have gone through my usage over the year. I need unlimited texts but only 100mins calls I recon.

    Orange quote:
Blackberry 8900 or Bold - free
    100mins / unlimited texts
    Unlimited BB usage
    All for £20pm :D
    - regards the poor coverage Orange said that the phone has UMA which connects to our home wi-fi so I would get coverage in the flat.

O2 have good coverage and I have heard good things about them. They have quoted me:
    Blackberry 8520 - free
    100 mins / unlimited texts
    unlimited bb usage
All for £25pm (24 month contract).
    - The plus is, I will get good coverage without having to rely on this UMA which i have never heard of (oh God, more Google-ing to do tonight)

I would really love to reduce my present bill of £25pm but coverage is paramount.
Any help would be most welcome
    thanks

UMA basically routes Blackberry calls via your home Wireless Broadband, therefore ensuring coverage indoors. It is a very good thing - wish it was offered on TMo! Praying that when the merger goes through next year, TMo will start offering it too.

I've just left O2 to go to TMo because of O2's poor tariff deals and hellish data/3G outages.

Me, I'd go to Orange, if I were you....

I've given up on o2.....talked to a lady on the retentions and all I was offered was 400 mins, 1000 texts and unlimited o2 to o2, 18 months for £27.00 (£3 off normal tariff). I used to have this plan for £20 per month (I've been on simplicity 20 for a couple of months since then), so didn't think it was a particularly good deal. Have instead gone with orange on their Racoon 25 package for £20 a month with 200 mins, 300 texts and unlimited landline calls.....everything I need for £20 a month :)

  • After around 8 calls to o2 retentions and being offered various iphone refurbs (although out of stock), I phoned again today asking if the refurbs were back in stock and they weren't so I asked about new iphones and I managed today to get the following:

    iphone 3gs 32gb (brand new)
    £35/month tariff
    18 month contract

for free - phone coming tomorrow. Was well worth persevering and the amount of calls made to o2 as this should have been £279. She first told me I could have the 16gb new for free but then I asked about the 32gb and she said I was in luck and I could have it for free, she said not many people are offered that.

The best I was offered before today was a 16gb refurb for free on 18 month £35/month or 16gb new phone free on £35/month 24 month contract.

I've seen a few people posting they've made numerous calls. Quick question, do you just put the phone down and call right back if you don't get a deal you're happy with? Or call over a number of days.

My mum was offered zip when it came to upgrade time. I'm due my own upgrade beginning of feb, ideally don't want to leave o2, since the rest of my family are on it. But given the lack of interest retentions are showing, I might have to.
