Went to Carphone Warehouse and did a straight upgrade from simplicity, got the Anio for £25mth with 600mins and unlimited texts, phone free.

Did start off to get Satio which I managed but DS found the touch screen not great for his extreme texting!

I'm due my own upgrade next month, hoping for a deal like this. Was this contract with o2 themselves or o2 via carphonewarehouse?

I am due for an upgrade, Im with 02 and have been for several years, I currently pay £19 per month. I was going to go for the Satio as I want a decent camera phone. Has anyone any other suggestions of what to ask for when I contact 02? I have had a look on the online upgrades and could get the Satio for £25 per month. Ive read a few reviews which suggest that its operating system is a bit pedestrian.

What do I use the phone for mostly? I text, make the odd call, and take photos. I dont use it for the net at the moment as I have a netbook I use at home. I m semi retired so I dont need one for work. I did think a phone with a GPS device might be a good idea as I dont have a sat nav.

Please can someone suggest what to go for before I phone them up? Every review I read gives me conflicting advice.

Not a touchscreen phone (can't be doing with them myself) but what about the Sony W995 - ticks all your boxes

Called to upgrade for my mum today, asked why I was leaving, told her I didn't want to leave but my current contract was at a discount rate, which was about to end and I couldn't afford the £35 a month which it would be going up to. She said, okay, thanks, pac will be text to your phone within 2-24 hours. No offers, no mentioning the tariffs they do below £35, nothing.

Guess o2 don't want custom these days.

Is it a friends & family discount? If so then so long as you don't change your contract the discount still applies for as long as you stay on that tariff.

I don't think so, worth calling and checking though. Thanks.

talked to orange and they have offered me

    free e71
    24 month contract
    600 mins
    unlimited texts and internet
£20 per month for 18 months then £25 thereafter

seeing if O2 will match this - does not feel likely at the moment!

How did you get Orange to offer that deal? It's cheaper than listed on their website.

    Cheers
    Waddle you do eh?

Take a look at the Anio, my son went for that for photos rather than the Satio.

Via Carphone Warehouse but the manager had to authorise the free phone as a pricematch against phones4u. Straight upgrade though, didn't change sim or anything.
Too many children, too little time!!!

  • Has anyone coming off a contract been offer discounts on the simplicity tariffs?

I am currently on a 18 month iphone £45 contact which is finishing start of next month.
Thinking of just taking a simplicity £20 700mins, 1400texts & unlimited internet deal until july to see if the next iphone is any good or go with the google phone. Just want to know if anyone had haggled with them and been given a discount?

There is a special Simplicity tariff available if you are coming off an Iphone Tariff
Its £20 for 600 mins 1200 sms and you get to keep your visual voicemail etc and you get free wifi and Internet, but you have to call them up and ask specifically for the Iphone simplicity tariff. Its a 1 month rolling contract.
  • Well I finally left O2. Phoned retentions yesterday lunchtime and they made no attempt to keep me or even ask why I was leaving O2. Switched to T-mobile on the following;

HTC Touch 2 (ticks all my boxes) 18 months, 800 minutes, unlimited texts and Internet booster for £30 pm.

PAC code text'd to me last night from O2 and received an email from T-mobile to say my phone has been despatched.

    I'm Happy :T
