and very badly  i was actually offered a worse deal than is offered on the website and that was with 15 years loyalty to them,it means diddly squat with o2 to be loyal :mad:0 -
Ive just got off the phone with retentions, i'm after an Aino with 600mins unlimited texts and web for £25 pm. Closest they said they could get was 600mins 1000texts and unlimited web for £30 pm. Try again tomorrow me thinks.0

As it does with many companies sadly. (BSkyB is another that springs to mind)
o2 retentions have to be the most useless group I have had the misfortune to deal with in some time. I don't doubt they will be overtaken by someone in the fullness of time but for know they are my No1 target for vitriolWe all evolve - get on with it0 -

Nice phone.
Cancelled this deal (as per other thread)
Retentions say with a higher priced tariff you get ?? mins ?? texts and a choice of bolt on say Unlimited Texts allowing you to use the ?? texts for MMS and the unl for normal texting. This confuses the staff and consumers!!!
I got offered a £16 200 mins/ul 02-02 calls/400 text 24 mth and a N6303 / SE w395 or £20 for a N5800 / N6700
or 300 mins/U o2 calls/600 txt £15 or 150 mins / 300 text £10 30 day sim only.
I've opted for the 150 mins and 300 texts for £10 (online to off line deal) to keep my bill level and thinking time0 -
I have a while to go until I have to renew, but does your credit rating or account conduct affect what you are offered? If it does I could be in big trouble, one of my payments was declined when they charged my credit card, so I had to manually pay it. They didn't tell the CRA I'd paid late, but it'll be on their system it failed.
I was hoping (obviously a lot can change by then) for SIM Only Unlimited internet & 600+ texts with not many minutes at £20 or less, but may have trouble if that affects me.
Also (I know this isn't retentions, sorry) I had a £2 something "loyalty bonus" as a credit on my bill dated as 8-9th Dec, why!? I'm locked into a contract so found it rather strange, anyone else had it ??0 -

It doesn't seem that great a retentions deal as you can get 700min & 1400 text + unlimited internet for £20 as a new customer on the o2 website.
The entire point of retentions dept is to give out better deals to retain old customer, but o2 seem to be failings on that.
Hmmm, I'll need to rethink then. Cheers!0 -
i`m disgusted with o2 after being a loyal customer for over 15 years
i phoned the upgrades dept yesterday as my contract was up on dec 23rd 2009
the best they could offer me was 300 mins free a month and a 16gb iphone for £89 on a £35 a month 24 month contract
just disgusted as i have stood by them even though the phone signal where i live is shocking to say the least
i called this morning to request my pac code to move elsewhere and the retention team wouldn`t better the upgrades team offer
i guess loyalty means nothing to o2 and that 15 years of constant business is not worth a free upgrade to them to keep
if they had at least offered the phone for free i would have stayed but no they aren`t for budging on that matter and want £89
so folks where can i get a good iphone deal for around the £35 a month mark?
any advice welcome,thankyou
I was offered the same deal but with the phone for free! (Also O2 phones are not normally locked to their network except the iphone of course)0 -
Been offered today by retentions (and accepted):-
Iphone 3g (not 3gs) 8gb refurb for Free
275 mins
125 txt (mins&txts not much but i'm a light user)
Unlimited internet & Wifi
18 Months @ £25
seemed a good deal to me anyway as after a quick check on a well known auction site it looks like the iphone 3g 8gb is going for about £250ish and i didn't think o2 would give me ANY sort of line rental discount on an Iphone contract.
Have i done the wrong thing? what do people think?
(was paying £20 a month for 600 mins, 1000 txt's and unlimited internet BUT never used anywhere near my mins&txt's)0 -
^^ So you are now paying more for less?
Apart obviously the phone itself, which I assume is your reason for going down this routeWe all evolve - get on with it0 -

Yes true, but i never got anywhere near using my mins&txts so it was pointless me having that many anyway, needed a new phone with good web access and couldn't find a contract for £20 or under that included unlimited internet with a GOOD phone so an IPHONE @ £25 seemed like a good deal for me.
On the o2 site the same deal is £30 a month,£99 for the phone and only 75 mins.0
