Sounds good to me, is that a web offer, or can I just call them?

In store and web, not a special offer.

i`m disgusted with o2 after being a loyal customer for over 15 years

i phoned the upgrades dept yesterday as my contract was up on dec 23rd 2009

the best they could offer me was 300 mins free a month and a 16gb iphone for £89 on a £35 a month 24 month contract

just disgusted as i have stood by them even though the phone signal where i live is shocking to say the least

i called this morning to request my pac code to move elsewhere and the retention team wouldn`t better the upgrades team offer

i guess loyalty means nothing to o2 and that 15 years of constant business is not worth a free upgrade to them to keep

if they had at least offered the phone for free i would have stayed but no they aren`t for budging on that matter and want £89

so folks where can i get a good iphone deal for around the £35 a month mark?

    any advice welcome,thankyou
I doubt you will get a free iphone on that spend
Orange want £89 as well looking at their website

i have now decided in the meantime to have my phone numbers ported over to o2 payg sims that i currently have here using my current phones so that i am free of any contract with o2 and if there deals improve in the future for a contract i will then be a new customer and eligible for the deal with them or with any other provider for that matter but in the meantime being payg free`s me up to do as i please and also allows the numbers i`ve had for the last 15 years or so to remain active until i decide what route i would like to take

still disgusted that my 15 year loyalty meant nothing to them after reading the deals on here many other customers obtained from them for free and i got offered no where near what many others have recieved  never in 15 years have i paid for a top of the range phone on my account and i don`t intend to start now,it`s more the principle with me than the cost i`m afraid

Can you port from o2 contract to o2 PAYG?

If the coverage is so bad why not port to another network?

I found o2 "retention team" to be an oxymoron

the coverage in my house is a nightmare but ok once i`m out of it but the main reason for sticking with them for the time being is the fact that most of my friends and family are o2 also so by porting my contract numbers to payg sims that i already have on the unlimited plan i can get free calls and texts to them for £15 top up a month

yes you can port from o2 contract to o2 payg i am awaiting my pac code as i speak to have this done which o2 have said is no bother to do once my code is generated and should only take 2 days to complete

i will probably end up being contract again at some point but in the meantime this free`s me up to do as i please while i decide what to do and what deal might be best for me as the current offers on the go don`t suit me

i currently pay in excess of £70 a month for 2 contract lines so i really can`t lose moving to payg unlimited as far as i can see at the moment,i did consider o2 sim only contract on simplicity but i can`t see that benefiting me as i currently only voice call and text and use no data, wifi etc, however if i had got an iphone package that would have changed but i didn`t get the deal i wanted so for now payg unlimited will suffice

another reason i stuck with o2 that i forgot is all my mobiles are locked on o2,i know this can be sorted out it was just another reason to move to payg that`s all

I've got a o2 iPhone 3g 16gb (good condition) and been offered the following by retentions:-

    1. Simplicity SIM - £20 month inc 1200 txt, 600 min, unlimited internet

    2. iPhone 3GS 32Gb (Refurb) - £35 month inc 500 txt, 600 min, 24mth contract

Neither sounds a great deal to me, anyone had better?

Would it be worth taking simplicity deal until June/July and see what new iPhone comes out? (I presume it isn't a tied in deal?)

I'm considering taking the simplicity deal for that very reason, the new iPhone is only 6 months away (9 max)

    Hi v_ster,

It doesn't seem that great a retentions deal as you can get 700min & 1400 text + unlimited internet for £20 as a new customer on the o2 website.

The entire point of retentions dept is to give out better deals to retain old customer, but o2 seem to be failings on that.
