just rang o2 again and was told it will take upto a week for my new tariff to go through, hmm, i suspect theyre trying to make it past my cooling off period before advising me i wont be getting the deal.
I suspect so, why does it need 1 week? Make sure you call again to reconfirm and also record the conversation!0 -
Emweaver suggested I post my renewal story here, so here goes.... (I posted it on another thread about 10 days ago)
My contract with o2 expired yesterday, so naturally I shopped around for the best deal. I was after unlimited texts, a new handset and no fewer than 500 minutes per month for about £30.
o2's starting point was unlimited texts, a new handset of my choice and 600 minutes for £35 per month, so I told them I'd shop around and get back to them. I phoned Orange and they offered me that deal for £27.50 per month.
So, I'm back on the phone to o2. I explain that I've been offered a better deal by Orange (although I told them they'd offered it to me for £25 not £27.50) and while I wanted to stay, I couldn't turn down an offer than would give me an extra tenner a month in my pocket.
After a bit of back and forth, the helpful assistant connected me to the retentions department. It appears that once you're through to these guys, you can start having a bit of fun.
I explained my requirements to the very, very helpful and polite woman and she said that they'd be happy to match Orange's offer. At this point I decided to tell them that I was still leaning towards Orange because of the Orange Wednesday cinema offer and their magic number feature (unlimited calls to one Orange phone number). So, the woman looks at my previous bills and notices that I use the internet quite a lot on my phone. So, she offers me unlimited internet usage too.
With a little bit of charm, a tiny fib and a lot of persuasion, I've got unlimited texts, unlimited internet use, 600 minutes per month and the new Samsung Soul phone for £25 per month. I consider that to be a very good deal.0 -
I cant decide if i wanna push for the lg secret or samsung u900 soul, anyone any recommendations?
The Samsung. My housemate has the Secret and, in my opinion, it looks much better than the Samsung, but the touchscreen elements are really annoying (it's very easy to press the wrong section and end up doing something you didn't intend). He's going to send his back and replace it with the Soul.
Though, you might also want to consider the Samsung Tocco, which is very decent.0 -
thanks ive got the tocco its all touch screen no buttons, its nice but need to get use to it lol. i did want the soul but they said it was out of stockWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

if you dont mind me asking, how long have you been with o2 and how much were your bills averaging?
just curious as wanted to see if they have different renewal bundles for those who spent more, been there longer etcWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
Been with 02 for some 3 years now and have two contracts with them.
One of the contracts came up for renewal this week. Had averaged £40 pm over the last 18 mths. Don't use this contract much now, so, retentions have dropped me down to £5 incl VAT pm and a free Samsung Tocca handset over an 18 mth contract.0 -

No problem. This is my fourth contract with o2. 2 x 12 months, 1 x 18 month and now this new 18 month one.
I can't actually remember what I got with my previous deal... I think it was 150 minutes and 250 texts for £35 per month. Pretty rubbish really and I frequently went over my allowance, so my bills were usually £45-£50 per month.0 -

Obviously neither here nor there if they've not given you what they said, but could anyone clarify that? x0 -
