Has anyone got the lg secret on a 12 mth contract? if so whats the best youve been offered?
I was offered 200 mins/400 texts wih a secret for £20 on a 12 month.
I didn't ask about a 12 month contract when they upped the offer as I'd rather have the cheaper tariff, although I may call back within the 14 days as I'm starting to get jittery about being tied in for 18 months.0 -
i dont like the thought of a 18 mth contract, mainly because the phone bearly lasts 12 mths let alone 18.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

I'm not happy with O2 at the moment. They promised to keep my contract the same at £15 per month as a retention deal... but are making me pay £30 and saying it's what i agreed to! they won't realise they've made a mistake and say I'll have to pay cancellation fee if I want to cancel the contract. my advice? don't trust O2.
I've tried emailling them many times with no luck... should I contact the bank to get back the money as it's a direct debit?0 -
tell them to listen back to your call as they record callsWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

I'm not a lawyer, but there are a few things I tend to do for my own piece of mind.
For one, when doing things over the phone I always get them to repeat back to me what they think we have agreed to. It may sound silly, but I make sure I am clear about what is going on because we may have genuinely misunderstood each other (incorrect terminology, naff hearing, odd accents etc....).
I also check whatever I can that is in writing asap. I've checked my O2 online page and it matches what I expected, but it is best to do it ASAP in order to fall into the 14 day cooling off period should there have been a miscommunication.
One thing that always puzzles me about organising stuff over the phone is the old saying that "A verbal contract is worth the paper it is printed on" (and this goes both ways). Surely they need to prove they have a contract with you. If they insist you agreed verbally, they should be able to prove it or else they have no proof of you agreeing to anything (which should let you out of the contract, no?). This might mean you cannot prove their representative agreed to the £15pm price, but it should prevent you from having to suffer with an 18 month contract under terms you didn't agree on.
Or am I barking?
And I know the company will always do the Pete's Dragon style "We've got a contract" whether they obtained the agreement fairly or otherwise, but it doesn't mean they are right or that the contract is fair.*I reserve the right to have an opinion, the right to change this opinion and the right to be wrong.*Hope that helps. Hey all,
I'm an O2 Select customer and can apparently upgrade from month 15 of my 18 month contract. I'm wanting a new phone so I like this! Does anyone know if I can carry over my previous retentions deal as I'm quite happy with it, or can I even negotiate a new deal, or would they just push me onto a standard tariff as I'm not at the 18 month point?
Cheers. If this has been of any use please click on THANKS, it makes me look good.0 -
O2 never confirm the changes in writing, I always ask and am always told they cant do this.
Secondly they ask for your place of birth, this is what they say acts as your signature.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
