Rolling?? They O2 still do rolling contracts?

Can anyone get a rolling contract.. I'd like one

simplicity is a rolling month contract, i just finished up on my contract with them and dont want another phone at the moment so went simplicity until the summer when the new iphone will be out
  • So today was meant to be the first day that I could upgrade. I phoned o2 retentions several times and the best they could offer me was I Phone 3Gs 32GB Refurb 600 minutes 500 texts unlimited internet for £31 per month (18 month contract). I could also have a refurb 16GB one £28 (again 18 month contract) per month but they dont have any in stock. I was told by a lady at o2 that new iphone 3gs will be in on Thursday and to call back then to get a discount.

What do people think of these offers? I currently have N95 1GB and pay £24.50 for 600 minutes and 1000 texts unlimited internet.

That is a very good deal you know. I got offered first time, same mind and texts etc, iphone 16gb, £35 per month. iphone 3gs is going for over £500 on ebay. So if sold for £500, then your line rental would be £3.23 per month, bargain.
    Kind Regards

  • Are you wanting an iPhone particularly? As O2 seem to be pretty stingy on the deals they are giving out, especially with the iPhone. You might get more joy negotiating on a different handset.

Perceived wisdom seems to be give notice, find deal you want on another network, ring retentions and then haggle.

I have always generally had a nokia phone ever since I was with o2 (and previously BT Cellnet) - ah the days of the 5110 and 3220! However o2 seem rubbish with any current Nokia phone, my friend on Orange has the HTC Hero but o2 dont offer that so I was thinking the next best was the Iphone 3Gs?? I might wait until Thursday and see what they offer me then.

I've got a 3GS just now and am planning on going back to a Blackberry - I've found the reception to be not great (compared to the iPhone 3G).

Well, on 0range iv been offered 400 minutes unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £20 per month with a blackberry 8520 curve 24mnths. Vodaphone are also offering very good deals.
Im thinking i may have to say goodbye to 02, im doubting that they will offer me anything better than that, but its find out day tomorrow when i can give my notice :)
Because im out of work though at the moment and may find it hard to obtain another contract i would make it 30.00 per month on a 12 month deal if 02 would retain me, doubt it though.

OHHHHH. When the person said ROLLING, i thought they meant their mins and texts and data that's UNUSED from the previous month rolls over to the next month. Didnt think they meant the contract was 30 days. I see I see.

Funny how the term ROLLING is now used differently. Then again, maybe I was always thinking of "rollover"
