I honestly think you should call during working hours and get the right person. I would have to usally call up 3 times to get the right deal.

Im both on vodafone and o2 and o2 are better customer service by far.

o2 sometimes dont have the phones, but what ive done is ask what phone they will offer me, I go on ebay and see what prices they go for. I then can make my mind up if I can buy the phone I want for the money ive made from ebay. If they offer you a iphone 3gs then these are fetching about £300-400.

I second this. It's literally about calling up many many times and getting the right person. Im not exaggerating when I say this.. I called orange, tmobile and o2 over 20 times aaltogether.. called orange the most as thats who i was more interested in and the more you call the more you learn about what to say and hat not to say, and what works.. you'll improve your phonecalls as you go along and you'll know how and what to ask for.

In the last 2 days i bought 2 blackberry contracts which would have cost £60/month in store, got them for £45/month over the phone.

Fact of the matter is o2 simply aren't competing on price.. their service is great but they're not a one of a kind company. T mobile and orange are easily good alternatives. Voda i've heard mixed things about, but good luck, keep calling!

They are open, took me 35 mins for somebody to answer, no decent deals asked them to disconnect at the end of my contract.

sorted :) £20 a month 600 mins 1200 texts free internet+wifi rolling month to month contract.

Will keep me going until the summer when the new iphone will be out
  • I came out of contract with O2 Feb 2009 and moved onto the monthly simplicity tariff as there were no phones that I fancied at the time and my Nokia N95 was serving me well.

Over the last 10 months I have been keeping my eye on the O2 site but am disappointed with the choice of phones and the tariffs available from them. I am now at the stage where I want to move to a new touchscreen phone however O2 seem to want me to spend around £35 pm to get what I want (600 mins, 500 texts and unlimited data plus a new phone). When I call them I keep getting told phone back in a month's time as we may have some special deals or discounts coming up or new range of phones but they never do. I dont want an I-phone but fancied the palm pre but to get what I wanted was gonna be £35 a month whereas I only want to spend £30 max but would be happy to go for a 24 month contract - again when I called at the end of the year about the palm pre they said call back in January as we may be reducing the price. Is this just a tactic to get me to remain on the monthly tariff ? I think so and am now considering moving to another network to get what I want - T-mobile have some phones (Nokia, HTC and their own brand) that far exceed my text/mins requirement but are within the price I want to pay.

Why are O2 so inflexible at the moment to long term customers ?

    Also can anyone recommend a touchscreen that is good for the following;
    - clear calls
    - texting
    - good web browsing
    - decent alarm clock

as these are the only real requirements i have for a new phone.

    Thanks

T-Mobile Pulse would be my pick if you can't stretch to the HTC Hero. On the issue of phones, it has always struck me odd why O2 have never got the Hero on their network given the excellent reviews it always receives.

August 2008 I got an offer of Samsung Soul and 200 mins / 200 texts "£10", 18 month contract with o2.

When I rec'd the phone it was in a plain brown box, no instructions etc. Anyway I was happy with the deal.

P.a.y.g would cost £24 (Asda) if I used all my text n mins. (no free phone)

Tomorrow I will see what my friends at o2 will offer!!!! Otherwise will prob go to Asda p.a.y.g.
