Getting the iPhone but in a dillema now...do I go for O2 and take advantage of their top up £15 get 100mins and texts plus £15 top up; Orange or Vodafone early next year? I'll be getting it on PAYG.
I think i'll hold of for orange (maybe they'll do a xmas deal)
3 has also announced they will offer it next year0 -
The comment about the outsourced call centres are a nightmare is VERY arguable compared to o2's own customer service
Well since I used to provide it I guess I'm a bit biased and also use my experience to influence operators if I ever need to phone O2 myself and somethings not quite right.
Also - a hell of a lot of problems that are very hard to resolve for O2's own customer service are brought about by the outsourcers (OK not all, we were definitely never perfect). It's hard to trace calls back within the outsourced centres and we never had any facility to contact advisors there directly despite them having fixed extension numbers - emails to managers etc were slow processes.0 -
My 18 month £35/month 600 mins 500 text deal (CPW/O2) came up last week. Having ignored days of calls (3 or 4 a day) I finally answered a call today. I had been doing some research but wanted to see how much they were willing to bend...
iPhone would cost £87.11 just as if I was a new customer - prices are pre-set and there's nothing they're willing to do
LG LB40 would be £40 a month, free phone. I told her I could get it for £30 elsewhere and she didn't seem to understand I could move providers - why wouldn't you want to stay with us? You'd have to go to a shop etc. It's free for £35 on their website, and for £30 on T Mobile - I'd be better off as a new customer getting it for £35.
Sony Ericsson Satio was the one she really wanted to sell me - £30 instead of £35, same contract as I have with mobile internet.
She started off trying to upsell my package on my current phone - I had to tell her I was going to change my phones
I laid it on really thickly that I'm not happy with them misselling my current contract, I'd only stay with them if they were cheaper than someone else. She told me I could go to a different CPW store. I then explained I was missold it by someone on the phone like her and she told me I could trust her and all the calls are recorded - yet they couldn't find my recording when I complained...
I've ended the call by saying I'll be going somewhere else.

I've been playing with the retentions department over the last few days and the bloke I was dealing with admitted that their offers are not as good as they used to be. The best thing he could offer was a cashback deal - £35 x 18 months, 600 x net mins, 1000 texts, and a bolt on of my choosing, with £540 cashback by redemption, making it £90 total cost.
I was hoping for a nice handset and was prepared to pay up for one, but the bloke eventually rang me back and advised I bought a PAYG handset and take the cashback deal!
Anyone managed to get a good deal with a handset recently? Ideally I'm after a Satio or a sony C905 or something like that.0 -

I'm after the Blackberry curve is it as hard to get a deal on this as an iphone?0

As stated in the title my o2 phone is due for an upgrade as my contract was up on the 8th of november. After reading on the forums I see that O2 upgrade or rentention deals leave a lot to be desired and the choice of new phones seems really poor.
Because of my location the O2 network is my only real option if i want resonable network service all the time, all the other networks seem quite patchy.
I have noticed that I can better get better deals on the O2 network by using someone like CPW or Dial a Phone etc, but here is my problem....
My credit rating is not the best and I believe the only reason I managed to get an O2 contract was due to the fact they seemed to be dumpimg stock before the iPhone was launched.
I was cold called by O2 (direct) and offered an N95 for less than I was spending on PAYG about a week before the iPhone came out, when I informed the caller that I would not pass the credit check he told me he would check, put me on hold for literally about 5 seconds and then came back and said I had passed the check, pretty sure it takes longer than that.
Anyway. My question is if I request a pac code and try to obtain a contract from someone else will they do a credit check or accept me as I have a pac code from an existing contract?
And if i requested a pac code and was unsuccesful in getting a new contract from someone else would I be able to revervse the cancellation? If so would I lose the option of an upgrade direct from O2?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
