02 Retentions thread 2

Just found out about another major ftse 100 company who is moving away from O2. What on earth are they playing at? I thought that the idea was to lose some of the, "Deadwood!" Their words, not mine. I wouldn't have thought that a huge ftse 100 company would be deadwood. Can't see O2 sticking around for much longer if this is how they are behaving towards their customers.

When O2's iPhone exclusivity contract expires soon, they'll soon realise the impact of their neglect. When my contract with O2 expires this December, I will harbour no haste in retrieving my PAC code.

Not entirely certain, but it has to come to an end some day.

Rumour has it that November may be crunch time. Not good timing if true as lots of people who bought an iPhone 3g at release are out of contract in December.

I called O2 today to find out about buying out my contract to get my pac code. Mentioned to the lady I spoke to that apparently retetion deals haven't been that great around my, "(MSE) friends," recently. She said that the system was going to be reviewed and that they are expecting a lot of changes.... better late than never? I didn't buy out today, but I do have my eyes on the N97 mini. Not sure who is going to be stocking it yet.

I wouldn't hold your breath that O2 will stock it- the Palm Pre after all is an O2 exclusive and a rival to the N97 mini.

Just off the phone to retentions and the guy told me he got an e-mail today about O2 are losing the rights to sell the iphone 3g but will still be the only operator to be selling the 3gs!!!
so hopefully this might bring down the price a bit, if other operators are selling the 3g

Did you manage to wangle a discount from them? My contract is due for renewal in December. If I can't get a discount, I'll get the HTC Hero on Orange instead
