  • I've got 3 bolt on on mycontract that I upgraded a few months ago. I have the following:

    Unlimited o2-o2 calls
    unlimited web bolt on
unlimited texts (on top of getting 2000 as part of my contract)

Are you sure they offered you both of these bolt-ons together? No offence intended in the question, it's just that I've only ever heard of them being offered on an "either / or" basis or charged at an additional monthly cost - any ideas would be great to hear.

    Thanks

    Tiddly

I had both added free 9 months ago
  • Thanks for the posts re bolt-ons - could I just ask another Q please?

For those of you that have more than one free bolt-on - did you get them direct from O2 (new contract, retentions?) or are you CPW customers or with another agent?

    Thanks

I did get mine three bolt ons ( long weekends; unlimited text and unlimited blackberry) around mid May and it was direct from o2.
You can have God without religion!
  • I've just been speaking to retentions, because I'm downgrading my tarriff each month with the aim of buying it out at 6 x £15 to end it 6 months early. We went through the options, and all the deals are for the iPhone. When I mentioned not wanting to lose my loyalty deal (-£10 a month) she pointed out that they no longer offer discounts, it's about extras and total cost. So after I pay my £90 I'm free to go anywhere for a new handset.

When I mentioned that O2 had only ever been the cheapest because of this rolling £10 discount, and without Orange would be cheaper for me, she said you have to consider total cost (voice mail, 08 numbers, foreign rates) and they no longer competed on price.

I think I'm going to return to PAYG and get a 3G PAYG for my new netbook. Back to phone for phoning, computer for computing - and I thought I was decreasing my gadget supply.

Apparently it's not only consumer accounts that O2 isn't working hard enough to retain

A friend told me his company recently switched all their staff to Vodafone after many years with O2. It's a company with between 10 and 20,000 employees
  • Called this morning, currently on 18mth web 25 200 mins 400 txts and u/l o2 to o2 with g600.
got offered pixon or tocco lite same as above but on 24mths with u/l internet bolt on.
I was interested in a blackberry as I want to get my emails on the move but the best blackberry deal was 8900 £48 for the handset 24mths with 600 mins u/l txts and u/l emails for £30. explained I coule get the new 8520 on Voda with only 300 mins(won't use 600 anyway) for £25, they weren't interested.

That is a lot of business to let go. OK, it's small compared to the tens of millions of customers they have, but it's still sizable.

That's not too bad I think, the 6700's SIM free price is still relatively high and you're getting a few extras in there, plus they're not trying to make you stay for 2 years. :)
