I'd double check the deal you took if you took it through o2.
phone is free and its an 18 month contract - I dont know why its 400 texts the guy looked at my account history and the most I have ever used is 360 so 400 fine for me, Had a text this morning to say I am on o2 £ 25 as of 4/7/09 so when phone arrives on tuesday I will double check everything and if not right it can go back
the number I called to get this deal was 0870 1117200 don't particularly care who it is just happy with it - or will be when the phone gets herei'm living in a parallel universe0 -

I think that's the o2 CPW?0 -
Again, this doesn't sound like o2 direct as they don't do 12 month contracts with handsets anymore?
I definitely called O2 direct. I definitely got a further 12 month contract form retentions. I don't know why, but I am a "gold" customer (their words not mine) and I have been with them 9 years.Lynzie Lou :dance:0 -
Also I confirm with MRC that sound more like Carphone warehouse O2 offer. Cause I went there and it was £35 a month there. (for ppl who dont know O2 CPW and O2 from O2 store / other shops are different.) Called O2 today (nearly ask for my PAC today) and they still have not got the handset, and went to O2 shop and the manager there said it been on backorder but to get the handset for free it have to be £45 a month tariff. I was going to move to Vodafone for a C905 / N96 but I just found my temp phone so got the barred remove and can now wait for O2 to get the W995 at resonable price.
Anyway just look at the O2 website and what is going on where is N96/N97/N71 Sony Ericsson C905 / W705 etc. etc..
They asked why I was leaving and I told them it was because I wanted the W995 handset and CPW were offering it for £35 a month, they said they'd match the deal, I said I was leaving anyway, the offered me 12 months.Lynzie Lou :dance:0 -
It can't be a 12 month contract though, I'd definitely double check the deal you've took out as o2 don't do 12 month contracts anymore with handsets..0

After reading some of the comments on this I dont feel as bad as I did but still annoyed with o2. I have been a customer for a few yrs and everytime I have upgraded I have had no problem except for now. I originally did want the n97 but now o2 have said that they are not stocking it I then decided to go for sony ericsson w995. I was then told that to have it for free I would have to go on a £70 tariff or on a £35 tariff it would be £100 for the phone. How is this when orange are doing the same phone for £25 600mins and unlimited texts?? I am disappointed with o2 as I asked for my pac code and although I got it straight away I wasnt offered anything to stay with them. I have now decided to switch over to orange who have a lot more choice in phones and have a better retentions team0

Apparantly i'm a gold member of O2.
Certainly didn't feel it yesterday trying to sort out an upgrade.
I mentioned i liked the Nokia 5800 and the Samsung Preston which i know only Orange do.
At the moment i pay £35 a month and hardly touch my minutes and text allowance so want to reduce my payments to £15-£20.
I was offered the Samsung Tocco Lite which wasn't in stock or a Nokia model. Neither of which i wanted after researching them
Rang back and said i really wanted the Nokia 5800 and what was best deal could do there. £30 a month i was told. Told her i was going to cancel then and she didn't even try to see if could get it cheaper. Just said i'd receive my PAC code and PAYG sim. That was that!:mad:0 -

(Posted this two days ago but it was the wrong thread, oops!)
I've been an o2 customer for about 5 years. I was on a contract for £25 which had insurance, 75 mins and 300 texts which ended on the 3rd. I decided I really wanted the blackberry curve and liked the look of a deal on Orange for £30pm: unlim texts, 900 mins and 500MB internet time. I phoned up o2 retentions, I was totally willing to stay should they have given me a nice offer....but the girl only offered me a deal which would cost £45pm, with less texts, less minutes but unlim browsing.
I said no thanks, n she was like fair enough, that's all we can do....so now I have no contract with o2. I was a little gutted she wasn't willing to at least match the orange contract, but oh well! At least now I'll get 2 for 1 orange wednesdays!:rotfl:0
