I am also very annoyed with the current situation having moved onto simplicity in January with a £5/month discount which expired yesterday. When I moved onto simplicity I was told that all my accrued loyalty would be retained etc etc Phoned up retentions yesterday and there's nothing they can do no discount and connot even do anything to match t-mobile sim-only solo 30 which as a package offers more than simplicity £30 deal I am on.

It is comlpletely crazy, I have been with o2 for 9-odd years and spend on average £50/month - where are all the o2 guys and gals who used to post here? What is actually going on and is it worth hanging around for deals to return??

I was on simplicity 20 for 20 months paying £19.58 pm.

I called them to ask what the best deal I could get. I was offered ( and took ) online 35 on an 18 month contract with 600 mins , 1000 texts and unlimited web plus a Samsung Tocco Ultra for . . . . . .£19.58 pm.

    ;)

    Before or after 1st June?

There have been no retentions deals since 1st June.

    Ah.

End of May so must have just been lucky.

Only found this site as I'm looking for deal for my son who is on an 18 month contract which finishes in August.

    Mine finishes on 11th August.

However it appears I won't get anything.

Are you sure it was o2 direct? W995 isn't free of charge on any tariff except £75pm at the minute?

I'd double check the deal you took if you took it through o2.

phone is free and its an 18 month contract - I dont know why its 400 texts the guy looked at my account history and the most I have ever used is 360 so 400 fine for me, Had a text this morning to say I am on o2 £ 25 as of 4/7/09 so when phone arrives on tuesday I will double check everything and if not right it can go back

I've told him to phone the retentions dept to find out what they can offer. But from the little I've read here it looks as if he will be going back to PAYG.

He could try the simplicity tariffs.

Yes maybe. That's what I was on and my daughter is already on that.

Where did you get that figure from????? Cause everywhere else are doing it free on nearly all tariff ranges and even CPW are doing it for free on a low end tariff. O2 themselves dont have the price guide, the reason why littlemissfugal got the phone is cause she spoke to retentions who have some phones allocated for themselves to "save customers."
