I agree o2 are being like idiots ive been with them since 2002 and they are not offering any good deals its fair to say even new customers are getting better deals at the minute O2 are offering me a Nokia 5800 free on a £30 a month contract with £5 discount to make it £25 and 400 mins 1000 msgs and unlimited internet
I have another account with them i upgraded to a nokia 5800 and gave me that same deal for £20.

Vodafone new customers get a better deal im sure of it

Well ive asked for my PAC code lets see what happens if a better deal is not offered i will be going without any hesitations

My sister was trying to get a deal and spoke to a guy who told her that everything changed from the 1st of june and O2 are not allowed to offer a discount of more than £5 for tariffs under £35 and no more than £10 for contracts over £35 and now have phone values set to tariffs. Though he did say they were loosing a lot of customers as well so the 'new rules' won't last too long.

Tell me about it i was speaking to a customer advisor at Vodafone and he was trying to sell a phone first thing he said was what you see online is the best deal but mentioned the new samsung jet when i asked if he can do a better deal he said no as he was offering me a £35 a month deal but quickly changed his tune when i said that i was looking at £25 a month tariff (just to test the water) he offered me a £10 discount for the first 15 months haha

Well il give o2 a chance see if they come back with a deal if they dont im gone
One thing also O2 dont offer the variety of quality phones that they use to what a shame

I've noticed that O2 aren't as competitive thesedays. A lot of their handsets on £35 per month tariffs are now being charged, compared to them being free before. No doubt the fact that O2 has exclusivity with the iPhone has given them more confidence to be less competitive, if that makes sense.

Indeed it is in their interests to push subsidies down as this both improves their margins and cashflow. Customers have shown with the iPhone that they are willing to pay some money up front to get a nice phone, in addition to the relatively high monthly cost.

Add in the move to 2 year contracts and we have mobile deals going in the direction of the US deals, which are some of the worst in the world - surely this is the wrong direction of travel but at least we have an upstart network (3) which is willing to buck trends :)

Finally I bothered to ring O2 for an upgrade today, bearing in mind the phone that I want is the SE C905.

I'm currently on a 12 month contract, and said that I what I wanted and realised that I had to go onto an 18 monh deal she checked the price and said I'm sorry but that will be £75 pounds per month which I burst into laughter at... I just asked her to hold the line for a moment went to there web page and asked why new customers got it cheaper. She said they'd have to equal that price. I'm by now in hysterics laughing. I did use the one I've been with you 3 years. No good.

Then I asked for my PAC, she said that she would put me through to Retentions, at this point I'm thinking Joy, afterall it was what I wanted in the first place, I got put throughto the most lovelly young lady, I said that I can get it from Vodafones website for £25 per month, but still they wouldn't budge but she was such a lovelly lady, and treated me like a human being, and my compliments do go out to her, she finally offered me a rolling contract a around £10 per month, which for the time being I have not excepted.

Apparantly they are not allowed to move phone prices on certain phones. Well who knows.

By the way my PAC was sent to me within 40 minutes not bad (thats loyalty) for you.

Does that just cover web browsing or things like video streaming, downloads etc?
