I got a 12 month contract with 02 for 600 mins 1000 texts and unlimited internet with a Motorola V8- so it should be possible to get the deal you want:). The only stumbling block may be the phone- state that you are tempted by the 3 500 mins unlimited text 12 month deal and you want to see if they can offer you something less with the N95;).

My 12month contract was due to finish on the 16th, I fancied a N95 for a bit of a change more than anything else after having sony's for the last few years.

After several calls to 02 retentions all they were prepared to offer me was the same contract- 400txt, 200mins £20pm for 12months and a free SE K850i. They wanted £120 for the N95.

I just popped into the 02 shop the other day to have a look at a few phones when and assistant asked if I needed help. I explained the situation to her and what retentions had offered me, immediately she said "oh you can have an N95 for free if you upgrade through the shop and stay on exactly the same tariff" In fact she offered me most of the new phones out including the Samsung "soul" & LG Viewty.

I asked how they could offer it free and yet the online side of it wanted £120. All she said is that you often get better deals by going into the shop.

    I went for the N95.

Just thought I share the experience with you so before you reluctantly accept a phone you didn't really want you could always ask at the shop first.

    Cheers,

    Pete.
    I'll get me coat!
  • I used to do something similar :) Get them to give me a tarriff I was happy with, then finish off in store. Meaning I could go through retentions and get a good offer, then get pretty much any phone I wanted and right away too! x

I'm currently on a 12 month package (Discount 500) £25, I don't actually like this package, that's by the by.

Anyway, my upgrade is due, I currently have the K810i:D, great phone.

But would like to change han-set. Not sure which though, my upgrade date is June 10th;)

Would I be okay to go through quidco 02 to get an upgrade, or quidco CPW, would I still get the cashback, or would I have to change networks?

Or just dial O2 Retentions like I did last year???

    Thankyou

    Robin

if you go through quidco to upgrade you will prob just g et a standard upgrade but if you call o2 and say you are thinking of leaving (even if you aren't) you will probably get a 'save' deal which will be better than a standard upgrade done online

    Been with 02 since May 06, was on 100min / 200 text £15.00/month (£100 discount upfront)

    I managed this today
Online 30, 400min /1000 text, unlimited O2 to O2 for £15.00/month + £150 discount in the first month bill, 18month contract. Works out at £6.67/month

    Hi everyone,

Been with O2 since July 06.

Managed to get a good deal out of O2 today, 600 mins, 2000 text, free unlimited web browsing, unlimted O2 to O2 with a free W960i, 18 month contract for £30 - exactly what I wanted. Originally spoke to the upgrade team on Friday and best they could offer me was a refurbed N95. Asked for my PAC today and they couldn't do enough for me. Know what you want and what other providers are offering and they will be keen to keep you.

    Good luck everyone!

I'm happy with my new deal!

Was on old online 200 tarriff 300 mins & 750 texts on a retention deal of £20 per month for 12 months. Called last week and found this would go up to £30 at the beginning of July.

I was told on the call they no longer do retention deals but I could sign up for 18 month Online 30, 400 min, 1000 texts & free o2 to o2 for £30 month & as I desperately wanted a good camera phone I could have a N95 8gb refurb.

I went to an O2 shop to look at the phone to make sure I liked it and called back that night and spoke to retentions. I had decided to go with Online 30 as I would get so much more for the same money. I asked for them to confirm the phone would be perfect and then said I would like to go ahead but felt that the jump from £20 to £30 was a bit high and was there anything she could do.

I was put on hold for approx 1 min and she came back to say as a loyal customer I she could reduce the price to £20 month!

I didn't have bargain for this deal at all, which is just as well as I am not very good at haggling, so I am very, very happy!
