I'd really like to know the answer to this one too!:) Flushed with confidence about getting a BB or C905 on the 02 £35/month deal with web access for £20 I tried last weekend, nothing doing - the best I could get was £25, or a nokia 5800 for £20. Tried again today, still the same problem so my PAC is on its way ... fingers crossed I'll get a retentions call to convince me to stay. Ultimately having got the PAC I don't have to use it, I can hang on with a simplicity tarrif and try something else later in the year, or ultimately I could bounce to a PAYG tarrif somewhere else and then start a new 02 contract with cashback to get the deal I want. Shame - this is a double up contract, my wife and I have the same deal and negotiate on the same terms (same call) every year ... been probably 5-6 years with 02 but I never seem to be offered deals whcih are as good as everyone else is offered ... its not like you're likely to go over the 600min\1000txt and therefore be a good long term customer with high bill now are you !!??

£25 isn't bad for the C905. I'm thinking about going back to Sony Ericsson when my contract expires.0

ok after feeling reluctant to phone back o2 i did!!! last time they sent me out my PAC code and when i asked for the 5800 for 20pm they said no! so thats why i asked for my PAC code....
So phoned back today and got offered:
Nokia 5800
800mins
Unlimited text
25pm!!!
He saved the quoted so i could think about it... at the moment i have n95 which is a bit bulky and my friend has the 5800 and she seems to like it?
So, should i accept this deal or keep the n95 and go PAYG!!!
Im so undecided!

Just spent almost 30 minutes on the phone trying get them to drop to £20 on the C905, but the best they would do is £25.
I managed to get them to throw in free O2 broadband, but they wouldn't budge on the £25.
I told them that I heard other people had got it for £20, but that didn't help.
I ended up asking for my PAC code which they are sending me, but even that wouldn't get them to drop it to £20.
Any tips I can use please?
I called when their systems were down and they were doing it manually. They offered 600mins, 1000texts, unlimited web and free C905 for £20 and took it. She called back 5minutes later and said that she had made mistake and that it was actually £25 but I said I was having none of it and she got her manager to give it the OK. First bill in and its gone through at £20 fine. I only spent more than my basic rental on 2 months but one was £120 so my average may have been in a high band.0 -

You could maybe go onto simplicity for a couple of months until a phone you like comes out? Although I believe if you take the £150 credit you won't be eligible to upgrade for another 18months but not sure on that point.0 -
2 questions, what a PAC code and can you still get 12 month contracts, as they seem to only offer 18 and 24 month deals?0

A PAC code is what you use to transfer your mobile number from one network to another network. Basically by asking for a PAC code you are asking to leave the network, so hopefully the person you speak to will try and offer you a better deal.
When a PAC code is issued it is valid for 30 days I think. You don't have to use. If you don't it will just expire and you remain with O2.0 -
Thanks for everyones help/views/experience on whether I will get a 'deal' coming off simplicity.
Just one last question - what do I say when I phone up?! Do I just ask for my PAC and hope they ask why I want it or straight out say i've seen a better deal. Also, do I just phone the general pay monthly number?
Last question promise!0 -
Been on O2 £15 simplicity for about 20 months now, and in dire need of a new handset after it mysterious died one drunken evening...
Called up retentions and got offered the C905 for free with 600mins & 1000 texts + unlimited internet for £25/mo (18mo) or the Nokia 5800 with the very same deal for £20/mo. Anyone managed to wrangle any better deals with this? Put pressure on getting the C905 down to £20 but wouldn't budge an inch.0 -

I've got the 5800 and I like it!And with unlimited texts, it's probably worth 25 provided you send a lot of texts. I got mine for £20, but that's 1000 texts, which is enough for me.
