02 Retentions thread 2

I went straight through to retentions and accepted the following for £30 on an 18-month contract:
BN Blackberry Bold
1200 Minutes
2000 texts
Blackberry Bolt-on
I didn't need to refer to any third party offer or to demand my PAC.
I could probably have shaved another £5 to £10 off the monthly payment. However, before we began negotiations the operator had given me a 5 mins sales pitch on O2 broadband which I then declined so I suspect she was not predisposed to giving me the best deals!
Still I still got her to up the mins by 200 and the texts by 1000 so I was fairly happy to accept rather than to try my luck on another call.
Hopefully this new tariff will drive my OH's bills down by at least £40/month so I can hardly complain!
Thanks to all posters for sharing their experiences.0 -
I called to give 30 days notice on my sim only. Was told i can do that now or he can send me a PAC code and a PAYG sim so i can transfer over onto PAYG (why not just convert the SIM i have now).
I chose the sim option as it was 7 days instead of 30. Not offered anything to stay, no asking me why i was going just offered PAC there and then.
What tarrif were you on and how long was you on it?0 -
Now I would want to move my existing number to the new iphone contract but keep the old contract running with a new number (to give mum/dad) as its nearly free. Is this possible?
Thanks
No. They can't switch over the numbers so moving your old contract number over to a new iPhone contract would cancel the old one, which you plan to upgrade on, so you'd be in commitment again0 -
right here is what i accepted
samsung tocco ultra
1000 texts
600 mins
unlimited internet
£20 /month
i think that is a right result:T0 -
8900 arrived yesterday, came with a voucher for staying with O2 and getting a blackberry.

My iphone contract is up in a few days and have been offered the £30 month tariff for £15 with free curve and unlimited bberry internet.
My plan was to sell off the curve thus paying off nearly all of the contract (15*18=270) and continue using my iphone untill the new iphone comes out and get a new contract.
Will the bberry internet bolton give free iphone internet if not can the bolt on be changed?
Anyways I mentioned this to the adviser, and they said I could choose the unlimited internet bolt on instead of the BB bolt on, as this would make it compatible with my current handset. Hope that helps.0 -
Hiya!
I have just finished my 3rd month on simplicity with o2 on the £20 a month tariff. I want to go onto a proper tariff and was going to choose the £30 a month/24 months with SE C905. I have a couple of questions....
1. As i've been on sim only will they give me anything off my line rental or free if I phone them up? I want the contract anyway but maybe they will add something else for me instead of a discount and how do I go about doing this? Or should I just upgrade through the internet?
2. If something goes wrong with the phone say after 6 months, will they sort it? I know that the C905 isn't the most trustworthy so i'd hate to be left without a phone halfway through!
Thanks0 -
Retained yesterday by O2 with:
Brand new Nokia 5800 with 8 gb card.
600 min 1000 txt
free o2-o2 bolt on
free 8 meg o2 broadband for 12 months with free wireless router
18 month contract at 20 quid a month.

They shipped my phone to the wrong address, and of course there systems are down so they can't do anything about it right now.
It is hard to believe that a large company like O2 has a computer system that is constantly not working!0 -
Hi I would give retentions a try to see about C905. I got the the C905 free on on the £35 month tariff (disc to £20/month). £15 month discount is uncommon with C905 but £10 discount seems to be doable. I was on simplicity tariff for about a year but been a customer for 4years.0
