Hiya!
I have just finished my 3rd month on simplicity with o2 on the £20 a month tariff. I want to go onto a proper tariff and was going to choose the £30 a month/24 months with SE C905. I have a couple of questions....
1. As i've been on sim only will they give me anything off my line rental or free if I phone them up? I want the contract anyway but maybe they will add something else for me instead of a discount and how do I go about doing this? Or should I just upgrade through the internet?
2. If something goes wrong with the phone say after 6 months, will they sort it? I know that the C905 isn't the most trustworthy so i'd hate to be left without a phone halfway through!
Thanks
I've just come off simplicity, got the £30 tariff reduced to £15, SE T700, 18mths, 1000 texts, 400 mins, £15 dongle and £150 cashback. Have been with O2 for 4 years though.Too many children, too little time!!!0 -
Some really good deals from O2 here.
Be a while before I can haggle with them though.

me too, september is my upgrade but it's good bench mark already for whats on offer.
currently on :
400mins
1000txts
o2 to o2 bolt on
free internet bolt on
nokia n95
for £22.50
with the VAT reduction it's £22.02 and never paid a penny more since i've had it.
hopefully even better deals in 4months.
i've just bought a blackberry bold on ebay , so planning to sell last two phones which will come £10 less than i paid for my blackberry, haggle with them to change my bolt ons to the blackberry data just now.
Get another blackbery when it's upgrade time and flog it and pocket the wonga.
I love it when a plan comes together........almost :T

Yeah the best theyd do me the c905 for is £25. After a week of haggling no one would budge so I gave in.
Had it a week now and its great, prefer it to the samsungs.
In regards to if it breaks.... I had a k850i on my last contract which broke about 4 months in. Had to send it to them and within a week I was supposed to have one back. 10 days and 'd heard nothing so I gave them a ring. They denied having recieved it. Luckily I sent it recorded and it showed as delivered so they sent me a replacement out. What they neglected to tell me was it was someone elses repair. It was bashed and really scratched. After my dad being on the phone for about an hour and speaking to about 4 managers they agreed to send me a new one as a gesture of goodwill since it was nearly 6 weeks without a phone by the time it all got sorted.
To be honest I'm debating getting this insured because of the hash on last time.0 -

That's really cheap, are you on a deal already?0 -

It's probably worth insuring as phones are so easy to lose. You should try an independent insurer as they're cheaper than O2.0 -

yeah, except for 1 year when i went to the dark side of orange
i've been with o2 since cellnet
i'm leaving every year for a better deal
always seem to better it year after year.
the blackberry deals that have been had for £20 would suit me fine tbh.
flog phone for £250-£300 no brainer.0 -

Thanks for your reply...
How long had you been on Simplicity when you called up and what did you say to them? Oh yea, and which contract is that on and what length?
I'm thinking I should phone up and ask for my PAC and see if they take it from there... if they don't I have no idea what to say!0 -
I somehow managed to lose my phone last night, luckily im eligible for an upgrade as my contract is up next month, i was on
1000 texts
500 mins
12 month contract
£25 a month
I asked for the same deal and the woman just said they couldnt do that, didnt even offer to haggle, just said to phone back later if i changed my mind.0 -
Hi I would give retentions a try to see about C905. I got the the C905 free on on the £35 month tariff (disc to £20/month). £15 month discount is uncommon with C905 but £10 discount seems to be doable. I was on simplicity tariff for about a year but been a customer for 4years.
Just spent almost 30 minutes on the phone trying get them to drop to £20 on the C905, but the best they would do is £25.
I managed to get them to throw in free O2 broadband, but they wouldn't budge on the £25.
I told them that I heard other people had got it for £20, but that didn't help.
I ended up asking for my PAC code which they are sending me, but even that wouldn't get them to drop it to £20.
Any tips I can use please?0
