  • Are we allowed to sell the phones you receive from upgrades then? I thought they were the property of O2 until the contract had finished?
When we get a blackberry they move our internet to the BlackBerry internet pay-as-you-use thing, so surely if I were to sell my blackberry and use my sim in another phone the internet wouldn't work?

Well my contract is up on 28/5/09, just phoned up to cancel and have been offered this offer which looks good but wanted some input for the experts

    400 x network minutes ( i use about 350 at the moment)
1000 texts (only use about 40)
    free 02 - 02 calls
    £15 per month
with a £150.00 credit for not taking a phone ( got a Nokia N95 8GB which works brilliant still)
so nothing to pay for the first 10 months then £15.00 a month for the last 8 months, works out at £6.66 a month over the 18 months.
Now this sound good to me, think i will be phoning them up later to take this, unless anyone can advise better!

Been offered something similar today from O2:

    800 atan mins
    1000 txts
£150 credit for not taking the phone

    18 month contract

I rarely use txts and 800 is probably a bit on the high side.
    £20 / month

Sounded ok to me ..... any advice on whether it would be possible to get it down to £15 im prepared to reduce the txts?

Mark - It's fine to sell, I even told the CS advisor when upgrading. After 14 days your stuck in the contract anyway. Also, I upgraded to a BB but am using a HTC touch Diamond, internet works fine.

Greentea - That'll be the 600 min deal with the bolton for extra 200 mins. Doubt you'll get it lower, although I'd upgrade to a BB bold or curve and sell it. I sold mine for £260 cash (no fees) so am effectively paying £5.55 a month!

If you don't need 800 mins, you can choose another bolt on, ie web, unlimited landline/o2 calls etc.

thanks for the reply, so if i get a BB bold or curve, i can sell it on? do i need to do anything to it before selling it?

    hey guys,

Im now able to renew or leave my contract.

I currently pay £35 pm for 400mins 500 texts. I do not really need more than this and Im also not too bothered about a new phone (I have recently bought one).

My partner is on o2 and she has unlimited 02-02 so I generally dont go over my allowance. I do not want less texts.

Any ideas on what I can price I can push o2 for?

    Many thanks!

I'd say you could probably get around the same allowance, depending on their tariffs for £15 a month with £150 cashback for not taking the phone. You have been paying over the odds on that contract so they should give you a good deal!

    Howdy,

    Rang retentions following offered
    SE C902 titanium
    400 mins
    1000 txts
    Unlimited 02 - 02
    Contract : 18mths
    £15 per month

Don't really need this many txts. Was looking for 250 mins and 500 txts, unlimited 02 - 02 but for 12mths on the same phone.

Was told they don't offer any discount on 12 month contract and I'm too far away from the exchange to get the o2 home broadband for £7 per month (£17 was what they quoted me).

Do you think there's any improvement to be made?

I think that offer is really good! I cant find anything better than that for new customers. The closest is prob orange £25 dolphin x 18 months. Which gives you unlimited texts and 400 mins. (on the mobilechecker website.)

Vodafone is similar to orange but with extra 200 mins making it 600 mins, which you wont use.

Looks like you've been given the £30 offer with 50% discount :)

My wife mentioned the Virgin £8.50 deal, which IIRC is 100mins and 100txts and includes a phone, but I don't think she necessarily needed to. She was first offered 600 mins/1000txts for £15 but she said that was still too much so they offered her the deal as posted above. i.e. 200mins/400txts unlimited O2-O2 and £150 credit for £10 per month.

Well, having agreed to this deal last month she today received her bill. No mention of the £150 credit and was charged £29.37! What a bunch of shysters. I have told my wife to cancel the contract and go with someone else. O2 are just con merchants!

Indeed they have messed up putting the deal rightly on my contract so had to ring them up, always try to get something in writing like an email as well.

    Hi

Can anyone offer me some advice on my renewal please.

    Current Details
    Company :02
Tariff : Net50 UPFRONT Upgrade £99.99 per year
    Included: Anytime 50 minutes
    Phone : Nokia 3120:o
Above contract taken out in 2001 and been renewed every year for £99.99.
    Contract renewal date tomorrow 01/05

I have received txt from them saying my tariff has been changed to 02 50 and will be effective from 01/05. your monthly line rental will be £18.60:eek:

Im a low user and my monthly call charges average out about £5.50 a month.

Typically of me, I've left this till last minute, and have total brain freeze today and don't know where to start?

If anyone can point me in the right direction of what I can negotiate with O2 or any other good deals that would be great. Im note sure if Net50 Upfront Upgrade is a good deal tbh as that works out at about £13.83 a month with my average call charges included.

My main criteria is that I keep the same tel nbr.

    Thanks

I got the following deal out of them on my mums contract

    200 minutes
    400 Texts
Unlimted O2 calls (can choose any bolt on so opted for the O2 calls as myself and my dad are on O2 and that is where most of her calls will be too)

£25 per month with a £15 per month discount meaning I pay £10 a month. Then as I didn't take a phone they gave me £150 credit meaning I am essentially paying £30 for 18 months or £1.67 a month for the above deal.
