They can do 12 months deals and with discounts- the best option for you is to quote the best SIM only deal on any network (T-Mobile Solo 20 I believe), and say that you are going to leave them for that offer.

At this point I would state how much you are spending with them a year instead a month- 240 quid a year in your case. Say that you can't go onto an 18 month deal and if they want their 240 quid for the year they will have to provide you with a 12 month deal with a decent ish phone. Play hardball with them and generally they relent, especially if you are not using the minutes every month.

I will try again tomorrow. Thank you for your reply :)

if you don't text a lot go with the Nokia 5800, if you do the C905, but it does suffer from buggy software IMO in the 3 months i had one, great camera though!
  • The Nokia 5800's fine for texting, okay, a keypad would be nice, but for the past 2 weeks i've been using the mobile phone like keypad with predictive text and it's been good. Only problem is when i accidently left it unlocked in my pocket, it changed to spanish, never again!

Can anyone here give me some advice please. I got the refurbished Bold 9000 from rententions and put it on eBay. Item number: 300311265091. I put it on a 1 day auction. With over 17 hours left, its already on £268. It seems fishy to me because I've seen brand new ones go for this amount or slightly less, and mine is refurbished. This the latest bidding history:-

Is this something to be worried about? My Paypal account is verified, what can I do to ensure I don't end up losing my money and phone here.
  • At the moment, it just looks like over enthusiastic bidding! But I'll take a closer look.

  • I can't see anything wrong, but I'd get suspicious if it goes much higher.

  • And by the way, the item number is wrong. I assume this is it: 300311265091

Well my contract is up on 28/5/09, just phoned up to cancel and have been offered this offer which looks good but wanted some input for the experts

    400 x network minutes ( i use about 350 at the moment)
1000 texts (only use about 40)
    free 02 - 02 calls
    £15 per month
with a £150.00 credit for not taking a phone ( got a Nokia N95 8GB which works brilliant still)
so nothing to pay for the first 10 months then £15.00 a month for the last 8 months, works out at £6.66 a month over the 18 months.
Now this sound good to me, think i will be phoning them up later to take this, unless anyone can advise better!
