    The guy wasn't helpful.

I requested the Nokia E71, 600mins, 1000text, web-bolt on for £20 since it was previously offered to me (had to wait 20 days for simplicity to upgrade) and he said "I'm unable to do that, only for £25 for 18 months"!

He isn't going to budge. I will have to ring and hopefully speak to another operator another day...

    wow they won't budge!

I rang again today, spoke to another person (needed to since I haggled and didn't get anything with the previous person) and they won't give a 18month/£20 with a good phone (N5800/E71).

I feel like just taking the 2 year deal of 600mins/100text/free web-bolt on +E71

What do you think? It seems they don't want to offer me the good deal! (18m)

    £24.79 a month 200 Minutes and 400 SMS. Free O2 to O2 . 18 Month contract

Guys, you really have to be prepared to cancel to get the good deals. Give your notice, request your PAC if you're not happy with what they're offering.

During the notice period, email the complaints team, email Matthew Key the CEO and you'll defo get a response and an offer you can't refuse.

They need our custom in these troubled times!

    ;)

Out of interest, have you had any experience doing this? Did you get offered a deal better than anyone else?

Tbh, I think the retention deals they offer at the moment are brilliant.... I got offered a Blackberry Bold for £20/month with 600 mins, 1000 texts, unlimited internet, for 18 months. So the total cost of the contract is around £360. I can sell the phone for at least £300 and that works out at £3.33/month.

My current deal is £15p/m 200 mins 500 txts. The mins rollover if not used. Unlimited internet and on 12 month contract. Usually get a good phone but this time took £100 credit.

Not sure if that's any better deal. You'll be paying £80 for that overall. Mine is £20 for 18 months with 600mins, 1000txts and unlimited internet and O2 to O2 calls. Pluss free Nokia 5800. So that works out at £360. My phone retails at over £200, so that leaves at least a difference of £160. Considering I get more than double your allowance, is it really that much better a deal? I'll leave that for everyone else to decide! I'm happy with what I've got anyway! :D

If you require that many minutes and texts yeah I would say that's not a bad deal.

Personally I don't require that much and 100% certain that I will not enter more than 12 month contract.

I've been trying to get the Blackberry Bold, 600min 1000 txt, unlimited internet on 18 months for £20.. but they won't take off the £48 charge for the phone :( Said thats the best they can do, and its impossible to take that £48 off for a new Blackberry Bold.

Ended up having to request a PAC code.. they won't budge.
  • There's no way they'll remove the £48 charge for the phone - if you want it free go for a reconditioned one!
