  • Hi,

A few weeks ago I was offered:

    Blackberry Curve (free)
    £20/ month - 18 months
    600 mins
    1000 texts
    unlimited web bolt on

Now they can only offer me it for £25/month. Does anyone know why they would up the price (£90 over 18 months). Are they no longer offering 600mins 1000texts for £20?

    Thanks
  • Ok problem solved. I managed to get it down to £20/ month. Thanks 02 ;). Definitely helps to talk to the right person though. The first lady wasn't that helpful but the second was amazing :).

You'll not get the N96 for £40 a month. It'll be at least £45, I already tried and failed! You could probably get the tocco ultra for less than £30 maybe?

is the N96 that good then?

is it worth sticking with 02 and getting an upgrade or going inot someone like orange as a new customer?

It is £48.93 with the £30/month tariff, (400 mins 1000 texts), this tariff comes with unlimited O2 to O2 calls, I just asked for it to be swapped to the web bolt on. Then I was cheeky and asked for free home broadband. £20 per month.

Just tell them what you want and see if it is possible, do you need more mins and texts?

No, to be honest i could get by on 200m 400 txts but dont wanna do myself out of mins and texts by telling them that especially when people are getting 600M & 1000Txts for £20! Desperate to get the web bolt on though.

I think i'm gonna go down the route of phoning and saying that....

"my friend, who was on the same tarrif as me, phoned up on Monday and got a new deal for £20 a month blah blah blah and is it possible i could also get the same deal due to my money problems...?"
  • Phoned up o2 upgrades yesterday evening and asked what tarrifs etc were available. immediatly commenting on my usage or lack of usage on my current tarrif he offered me this.

    SE C905
    400 mins
    500 txts
    o2 to o2 bolt on for £30

I commented on price, so he then dropped it to £25 with an extra 500txts.

Then asked about internet as im used to having it with my iphone tarrif and he commented that he couldnt do it for £30 and would have to lose the o2 to o2 bolt on.

I was only enquiring at the moment, though he told me to call again tomorrow as the ordering system was down even if I wanted to make the order.

I called again this morning spoke to someone completely different briefly mentioned C905, he said the tarrifs start from £35 for the phone to be free, I mentioned the offers I heard the night before, he asked if that was on a different network, I said no, then said that theres nothing he could do other than pass me through to "someone" who could help.

Turns out he passed me through to retentions without me actually even asking.

In the end I got the SE c905 free

    600mins
    1000txt
    unlimited web bolt on
    o2 to o2 bolt on
    £25/month

    thank you Martin!!:money:

money_grabber is correct. i read somewhere they are subsidizing iphone and not bothered with the n96... so other networks are playing on that... a friend got a call from CPW for upgrade and was offered it on a £22 a month deal with a clearance n96. i believe that is the cheapest i have heard of so far...

i called retentions and they offered c905 for £20 (600m+1000txt+addon)... i'm not sure yet... i have never felt comfortable with sony phones..

EDIT: btw my last month bill was £92 but they still wouldnt budge on the n96

I wouldn't say that it's an outstanding phone, it seems to have lots of features on it but not enough for me to justify spending an extra £15 a month just to get it. I also heard that if the phone breaks, it's very expensive to repair, so that's why they aren't pushing it.
