Hi there IWTS. We've missed you
!
What WiFi enabled phones are available to customers on a £20/mth tariff (even customers that O2 seem tired of)?
Thanks.Tough times never last longer than tough people.0 -
Off the top of my head I can't think other than Nokia 5800 and the SE W980.
Basically, if its free on the £35 tariff on the o2 site then you should get it for the £20 retentions.
Or do you mean £20 basic tariff for 75 mins?Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Finally due an upgrade, so gave em a ring. Im currently on 600 mins and unlimited texts for £35 a month. I tend to use around 900 text a month and only 120 mins. I tend to go over my bill each month and that mainly due to data charges from surfing the web.
After speaking with someone at retentions I was offered a free c905, 1200 mins, 1000 texts and a bolton of my choice for £30 a month.
I explained that I didnt really need the extra mins and was instead offered 600 mins, 1000 texts, a bolton of my choice for £20 a month, but I would have to pay £97 for the c905.
Im unimpressed with the stuff offered tbh. I was ideally looking for a free c905, 600 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited web for £30 a month or less. Looks like I will have to ring them back and try and haggle some more!0 -

Thanks. I meant the £35 tariff. BTW, the fella I spoke to sounded soooo surprised that I was offered the £15 discount on the £35 tariff, is that the new strategy with O2? Suddenly, my "loyalty bonus" has shrunk considerably as well (150 to 100). Could I possibly have called too many times? Took me a while to make up my mind.
What do you think my chances of a free phone are now that my moneypot seems to have shrunk?Tough times never last longer than tough people.0 -
Rang retentions yesterday- I am a "Gold customer" from what the lady told me, something to do with my £65 per month spend on my 12 month contract. I am at month 9, and was offered an N96, on the same deal as before, ie 1200 mins/1000 texts/unlimited landlines and web bolt on. I went for this but when the N96 arrived I realised I had made a big mistake. Phone was very buggy, with a very early version of software, and o2 had not approved the version of software which sorts out all the bugs (which nokia released over 3 months ago). So I sent the phone back, and yesterday I rang again. I wanted the 5800 but again it was out of stock, so I have gone for the c905 on an 18 month contract. 1200mins/1000texts/unlimited landline and web for £30, which I think isn't a bad deal. Think I will sell the c905 and buy a sim free 5800 so its not crippled with o2's software. Hope this helps someone.0

Sony Ericsson W705. Not on the O2 website but is available ober the phone.0 -
I've finally agreed to my deal:
Stay on current contract -
Online 500/double minutes (1000)/rollover; 150 texts, 1.5MB monthly internet.
£20/mth (discounted from £35).
No phone, so £100 re-sign credit (they would not budge and give me back my £150!). Therefore, free for 5 months.
Free O2 broadband whenever I need it (don't have a BT line at the mo).
Could not get a proper phone instead (offered Nokia 6300 so declined). No way to N95 8GB or 5800, even if I wanted to pay for it, would have to come off my tariff completely.
The moral of my story is:
Don't waste time like I did, make up your mind quickly and grab your deal if you like it. Apparently, deals change and budgets get altered.
When I first rang up, this deal is what I wanted but I got seduced by the Blackberry Bold (which in truth I don't need yet). By wasting time I've lost £50 and a choice of good phones.

Right. My nokia 5800 is faulty and has been for ages. Phoned them up to tell them nearly 3 weeks ago, and it's always out of stock so I cannot get a replacement.
I've been told I can get a different handset if I want, but can anyone let me know if I could get an iphone recon, and if they're in stock? I'm on the £20pm reduced from £35.
Cheers,
Mark0 -
No, you would not get an iphone, And the Recon isnt even out yet, If its even going to be called that.0
