This is extactly from the letter i recieved the other day which was Tuesday if im right:
    • A £14.69 discount on your monthly tariff subscription for 18 months from the date you upgraded
    • 200 minutes to call aby standard UK mobile or standard UK Landline
    • 400 UK Text Message
    • You've chosen Unlimited o2to o2 calls: call anyone else on o2 as much as you like and you've chosen Unlimited Landline Calls: chat to any landline, anywhere in the UK for as long as you like
    • Free voicemail
    • Web Daily - You'll be not charged more than 98p a day for mobile internet use.
    £150 credit back to you
When you chose your new contract you selected our £150 credit back offer. We will try to apply this credit to your next bill, but if we can't arrange that in time, it will simply be applied to your next bill after that. It will be displayed as a credit of £130.43+ VAT, which equals your £150 credit back

Funny thing was, when i upgraded, person over the phone didnt even mention it. But when i recieved the letter on tuesday i was gobsmakced. Rang o2 that very day, Lady claims you're saving 15months of line rental. She explained how it wored and everything. Was confused at first but got the pic straight away. Rang the following day (Weds) and the person said the same thing, Basicly im saving 15 months of line rental. Month 16th Month 17th Month 18th are the only months i'll be paying line rental, as long i stay in my allowence.

So all im paying is £30 in 18months with a free phone and bluetooth headset. I'm not complaining me. But i will ring up one more time tommorow for one final check. Never know....
I phoned up on tuesday i think and now it's Saturday. i'm sure the guy said they'll send a letter out confirming the deal.
How long did your letter of confirmation take ?

^ well your paying alot there mate. Try giving o2 a call, explain the situation. Right now most people are getting offerd £20per month for 600mins 1000txt unlimited internet with free phone for a 18month contract.

I doubt you'll get an 12 month contract. They dont exist anymore. Or try getting the offer i got read previous post on this topic.

Grea deal you got there! Were they particularly keen to keep you for some reason? Overseas calls? Calls over the limit? 0845/0870s etc?

When i rang o2 up all i said to them was that i can't afford to pay £20per month anymore. Financialy im struggling so i need to cut back on my spendings now.
Person over the phone asked what are you after? All i said was Unlimited landline call unlimited o2 calls few mins and few texts and il be happy, and imnjot botherd about a phone eaither.

After haggling with the person for about 15mins, he managed to give me that offer. Well i cant be complaining now.

    Hi guys,

I just got off the phone with the o2 retentions team. I am not too pleased with the deals I was offered, and when I told the guy that I have been checking out a few other websites with people getting better deals, he told me that they have not been able to generate enough revenue from me because I have kept costs in control (not oftene exceeded my allowance and made good use of the free weekend bolton). Is this really true (as in, do they look a lot at what they have made off me so far)?

    He offered me:
    - 18 month - 600 mins + bolt on + 125 credit - 25 pounds a month for the Nokia 6300

    - 12 month - 800 minutes + any bolt-on (unlimited landline or o2) + unlimited calls on sat and sun - no phone

    - 1 month rolling contract - 600 minutes + bolton - 19.58 a month.

Am I the only one who feels I could have got better?? Would appreciated advice of all you other users on this forum. It was only the first call I made to them and I am not too great at haggling I think, so do you think there is a chance to get this down more?

Thanks for your time and help!!
    Greg.

    Greg.

In regards to the first offer.
that is roughly £18 per month if you take the credit inconsideration.

Theres 33% off at dial a phone for the nokia 6300.
    http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/offer/DOL400M31/
Get 400 mins and unlimited texts for £20 per month.

Or theres a 25% save with the orange deal. Theres a few phones including the Nokia 5800.
    http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/offer/DOL600M249/
    600 minutes unlimited texts.
(but this is worse than what you been offered, incase you want a different phone)

I dont know if its going to be much of bargaining tool.
All i know is you got a better offer than i did lol! :p

Oh i forgot quidco, something like £60 back. I dont know the reliablility with that :/

I just got my new contract - Nokia 6500 (phone i wanted), 400 mins and 2000 texts and unlimited o2 to o2 calls for 15 pounds a month. Improvement from my 25 pounds a month 200 mins and 1250 texts. Pretty happy with that.
  • Just rang 02 as got a letter saying I was eligible for an upgrade. Didn't ask to go through to retentions as just wanted to see what they would say and they offered me the following:

    Either
Simplicity rolling 30 day contract for £15 a month, (600 texts, 300 mins, 02 to 02 bolt on).

    or

Stay on same contract (18 months, 1000 txts, 400 minutes, 02 to 02 bolt on), no new phone, £150 cashback.

What do people think? If is so confusing the mobile phone game!

I was previously paying approx £30 a month...

I am not in a hurry for a new phone as can manage with the one I have.

    LYM
    In it to win it!
