I got the £20 per month deal.
600 mins 1000 texts
Blackberry Unlimited Internet
Free Broadband
how long were you with o2 for before you got this and how much were you paying before... i have got a lot of people saying they work on a matrix based on your past bill amounts.... it took a lot of persuasion on my part to get them this down:beer:0 -

I was on a 12 month contract @ £15 per month and been with them for about 5 years.
I did not really need to haggle that much for the deal, they basically offered it me straight away.
And yes they go of a cash/points system on your account.
I have or had apparently 600 ish points or £'s and with that the retention team were able to give me the deal I got.
I happened to mention broadband and the lady said oh yes straight away "we can give you that to free for 12 months".
I told them that I already have O2 broadband and she said that she would have a word with the broadband department and sort something out.
If I did not ask about the broadband in passing (thanks to this thread that I did), I would of probably not been offered it.0 -
Right, like I said earlier, I need to consider my options for a phone with O2.
Now want to keep my contract (hopefully at £20/month as previously promised) and get a new phone. I've had my N70 for over 3years now.
I would like a multimedia phone, hopefully one that has a 3.5mm headphone jack, good music player, good calendar and PIM, good alarm (need several alarms to wake up LOL!), can get online via 3G, decent camera (3.2mp is ok, I've got a proper camera) and possibly also have WiFi. I am not keen on a touchscreen phone.
Preferrably a phone that O2 stocks.
I gravitated towards the N78 but the O2 website says it's no longer sold by them.
I've heard too many horror stories about the N96 and would like to avoid the N95 8GB.
Not asking for too much am I? Ha ha!
If you guys feel I should make this a new thread please feel free but I think the O2 bods here will have valuable info and advice.
Thanks!Tough times never last longer than tough people.0 -

Sounds like you could do with a Blackberry 8900 Curve.
It has everything apart from the 3G! (only has EDGE & WI FI)
From all the reviews and forums I've been on it's been said that even without the 3G the 8900 is if not just as fast as 3 G.

Hope someone can help..
My partner has been with o2 on pay as you go for years.. then 10 months ago went for a £15 simplicity package, 30 days notice etc.
Now she wants to 'upgrade' and go pay monthly, i told her to phone retentions and they said there is nothing they can do for her and told her to phone back when she has been with the simplicity deal for a year!! She even asked for her PAC code, that did nothing and they sent it..
Anyone get any good deals from simplicity to pay monthly.. and does she REALLY have to be with o2 for a year to get any sort of good deal... me thinks they are fobbing her off...0 -

Thanks G. Hmmm..... not sure about the 8900. I've only seen a dummy version and not had time to play with it. I think I might have gone off BBs totally at the mo.
For some reason I just want a not-so-smart smartphone, get what I mean?
Been using Nokias and not sure if I want to venture too far out. Any ideas?Tough times never last longer than tough people.0 -

Nokia 6600, most SE/Samsung phones.
Infact, virtually any non-touch screen and N series and you should be fine0 -

Thanks MRC, are phone choices limited to what you see on O2's website? On the website there are 4 pages of pay monthly phones but none really excites me and I wonder if there is more choice via retentions.
I like the look of the N78 but it appears O2 no longer stock it, some websites say that it has been 'replaced' by the N96, is this true? Can I still get the N78?
And another thing, is the N96 that baaaaad? I really want to like it but even the CPW shop assistant says there's only grief there. Battery and build quality issues I hear.
Finally, is there any phone that can match the Nokias in terms of ease of use, simple design and general "i'm-a-phone-I-won't-drive-you-nuts" appeal?Tough times never last longer than tough people.0 -
