The website isn't always a reliable stock status. Many orders that are placed on the internet will not be sent through, often receiving a "out of stock" email afterwords..

the website has different stock supplies to retention...

The retentions person said that once you've rang up once and they give you their best deal, all other retentions people will see that and then not give you anything better. Thanx

    AMO

the statement from the advisor is not necessarily 100% correct as it depends what the "best deal" they offered was. If it was genuinely the best deal available to you then nothing more can be done with your budget. PM me your number and i can find out what your best deal will be if you like
  • Not as a slight on Supervedder but s/he isn't confirmed as working for o2 or on their behalf so please be wary of giving someone you don't know your phone number.

  • Not too woried about giving my number out as the only calls I ever get are only junk calls anyway LOL. Am watching this thread with interest as my contract is open to negotiation in the next week or so. I nver answer calls from numbers I dont know anyway.

Argh, that's a bit annoying. I called up this morning to order the 5800 only to be told it was out of stock! I settled for the Nokia E71 instead... not sure whether to call back now and try and change it. I got a slightly less good deal than you too, although its more than adequate for my needs.

600mins/500texts/unlimited internet for 20pm, no home broadband but I'm living in university halls at the moment so I have no need for that.
Whilst the o2 home broadband isn't useful to you (as you're living in halls) at the moment, you could have nominated to get it on your permanent home address (if it doesn't already have a live internet connection and/or the rest of your family need an internet connection there). ;)

you should get the vouchers if you upgrade, but the BT headset for free? thats news to me that one is :o

Thanks for posting this :T . I'd originally picked the Tocco phone but I decided I liked the 5800 more so changed my order. I called up to check if the vouchers would be included and the lovely lady I spoke to said that they will be. The phone isn't back in stock until Monday so she can't put in a voucher order but she has noted it on my file and I had already arranged for the phone to be sent out once the stock is back in. I think the voucher deal ends this weekend so I hope the fact that the phone isn't back in until Monday doesn't cause any complications with that.

Hi, my contract with o2 ended in December and I am looking to see if i can get a better deal than I am currently on, can anyone post the best number to ring for the retention department please?
    thanks
Chocolate always makes me feel better!
  • Very interesting!

I'm going to be phoning up retentions week after next when contract is up for renewal. I've had the SE K850i for the past 18 months and last month the fourth handset I've had in that time finally packed in totally.

I was hoping to get the C905, but that's meant to be equally unimpressive in reliability terms, so have changed my mind and will be going for the LG Renoir. I've been an o2 customer for the past 8 years, with an average bill of around £50, so I am pretty hopeful of a very good deal. Something like gavbennet's would be ideal! 600 minutes, 1000 or unlimited texts and web bolt on would be superb at £20 a month for me! *fingers crossed*

On that subject, does anyone have any comments about the LG Renoir? Or the C905 for that matter?

You'll get a better deal on the LG Renoir rather than the C905.. ;)

If you purchased from an O2 store or another retailer:
From your O2 mobile 202 Free
    From a landline 0870 241 0202 National rate Opening hours Monday - Friday 08:00 - 21:00 Weekend 08:00 - 20:00

    If you purchased from o2.co.uk
    From your O2 mobile 0870 600 3009 Free
    From a landline 0870 600 3009 National rate Opening hours Monday - Friday 08:00 - 21:00 Weekend 08:00 - 20:00
When you ring up, choose the option which is requesting your PAC code and it will put you straight through to the retentions department. I called 202 and it was the second option, and then the subsequent second option.
