to bagand96:
Nokia 5800 so popular that O2 can't keep up with the demand. I was calling them for the last 2 weeks until it came back in stock on Wednesday afternoon and got the deal (see my earlier post). My order was placed after 6pm and phone delivered yesterday morning. I was amazed with the speed
CPW store guy told me on Saturday that they withdrew 5800 sales on PAYG for the foreseeable future because they don’t have enough for contracts and they make more money from contract sales..

Not really. Unlimited Data is not restricted to web page traffic and can be used to continuous streaming of data. This is what you get when you go for a mobile broadband dongle.
Web Bolt on is restricted to web page traffic being unlimited. The terms are that you cannot connect your PC to your mobile device for continuous streaming/downloading.
However, O2 themselves possibly use terminology that shoots themselves in the foot.

Does anyone from O2 Retentions post here? I have tried phoning many times but never was able to get the Nokia 5800 @ £20 / month or anything with that. However many people seem to be able to. Do you ring up loads of times? The retentions person said that once you've rang up once and they give you their best deal, all other retentions people will see that and then not give you anything better. What would have been the best way to get a better deal? I need to know for the future!
Thanx

Just rung them up,and have been told that the 5800 is out of stock until the 2nd of March.
Also their system for deals is updated at around 2pm daily, according to the girl I spoke to, so if you want to haggle, then wait until the afternoon. That's my mutt in the picture above.0 -

I was told Monday 2nd March as well. However I've also been ensured Monday 23rd Monday 16th Feb, so I wonder how reliable next Monday is. The most annoying thing is that it has been continually "In Stock" on the O2 website for new customers since the weekend. I wonder how they are supplying these orders. http://shop.o2.co.uk/mobile_phone/Nokia/5800%20XpressMusic
Think I'm going for the PAC code today, found reasonable deals on both Vodafone and Orange, and if the 5800 really is that popular I want to get it before these networks start getting supply problems.0 -
