    Hello fellow 02ers,

    I am currently on a £35/month tariff on a 12 month contract.

I am looking to get a blackberry bold or curve and after reading trolling through this thread have found a few offers.

I am most interested in the Bold and have found people to generally get:

£20/month, for 18 months, pay £50 for handset, 600 minutes, 1000texts, unlimited internet data.

These sound ok but I don't wanna take out an 18 month contract.

Do you think it's possible to pay a little more each month, say £25, and get it on a 12 month contract?
It should be- you effectively are paying 60 quid over the course of the contract for the phone which they probably buy in for 100 -150 quid tops. As you have been spending 35 quid a month with them they should allow you to do this if you state that you wish to leave.
  • Hi,

Have just been on the phone to o2 and they said the best they could do with regards to an iphone for me was 16g (refurb)@ £35 per month and a £99 one off.

I did select the upgrade option when calling as i have the fear that if i ask for my pac code they will just say "fair enough" and give it to me leaving me to find a brand new contract. What are the chances of them doing this and also if i do ask for the pac code, is it likely i will do any better?

If it's an iPhone you're after, you won't get any better deal than what upgrades can offer you. o2 cannot discount the iphone or tariffs

No harm in trying retentions to try and get a better deal and even if they give you the PAC code it does not mean you have to use it.
Just phone them back and get the original deal the next day or so.
I'd definately try and call their bluff ;)

Let me know how you get on,

I'm on a 12 month contract currently @ £15 per month and due an upgrade this week.

I'd rather have the BB 8900 preferably at the £20 per month deal everyone been getting and like you I'd either pay a one off up to £50 fee or just add a little extra on the monthly payments to compensate.

Be interesting to see what they say and how you get on!

Also I want my other half (on 12 month Orange contract runs out same time as mine), back on O2 and I wonder if they would give me the same deal if I ask them for two 8900's in my name on my account or would they say no and only be able to give me a standard tariff as it's not a retention deal!!!

I have rang them a couple of times now and the best deal they can offer me is:

    600 minutes
    1000 texts
    No Phone

For £20 per month, I declined both times and have asked for my PAC code and going to Virgin now.
  • my contract comes up for renewal next month on 02. I would like to get a samsung pixon but do not want to commit to an 18 month contract. The best deal they are offering me is £30 per month with 600 minutes and 400 texts. Think i can squeeze anymore out of them or reduce the line rental?

Were you offered any credit to your account? People usually get about £150. Curious to know what deals Virgin have.

This price includes the £150 credit to my account as I did not want a phone.
  • Having trawled through these retentions threads for a few days and picked up a few tips I have just called up and I have been offered the following on an 18 month contract for £20 a month with a free Nokia 5800

    600 minutes
    Unlimited Texts
    Free standard home broadband

    OR

    600 minutes
    Unlimited web bolt on
    1000 texts
    Free standard home broadband

What do others think to these offers? I would like combine the two to get unlimited texts and web bolt on, and push for premium home broadband too. Am I aiming too high!?
