I'm on simplicity £20 (1000 texts, 600mins) at the minute, 30 day contract.
Been with O2 6 months now.
Told them was considering leaving, managed to get the following:
    600mins
    2000 texts
Unlimited O2 to O2 calls (although can have unlimited internet or any other bolt-on if I want)
    Free Nokia 5800

For £20 a month, for an 18 month contract. Pretty darn good deal i'd say! Had the choice of the 5800 or £150 on my account, so 7.5months free line rental which would give an effective monthly cost of £11.68 or something. Took the phone though, couldn't resist!

Hmm....I rang through and they would only give me:
    600 mins
    1000 texts
    Bolt on - internet
    18 month
    Free Nokia 5800
    £25 / month.

They wouldn't budge to bring it down to £20 / month. I am currently on the £35 / month contract. They won't budge.

    What should I do?

Is there a particular time to call?

    Thanx

  • That's the offer they offered me too...
In the end I settled for £20 a month, 600 mins, 1000 texts, internet bolt on, and 150 quid account credit... so no bills for the next 6-7 months!!

    Happy overall!

I have just switched to 150 minutes and 300 texts for £9.79 per month. :T

No contract and you keep your phone but that suits me at the moment as not working.

    Details can be found here
    http://shop.o2.co.uk/sim-only-simplicity

Other deals include 300 mins and 600 texts for £15.00

    worth checking out.

I rang at about 6pm last night, so I don't really know to be honest, it was my first call!
You on simplicity £20? How long have you been with them? Thing is, I normally go over my contract too so that's why they gave me the extra texts too.

No, I am on Online 35. I pay £35 / month (actually £30/month as I put in a complaint about the upgrade when they got rid of the 0870 numbers!).

No extra texts for me! :(

well i am ready to join the gang. just came back after a stressful day, to find that THE 5800 is just a crappy looking phone. whole exitement drained out as soon as i got it out of the box. my 11 yr old son grabbed it without my knowledge and started fiddling around with it and he is in love with this piece of c**p. semms like within last hour everything is changed as he is going to keep it as PAYG (i know he is too young to have it). i am really upset and angry with him because i can't send it back ect and stuck with this contract for next 2 yrs. i must admit i hated the looks of this phone so much that i didn't bother to check its features (son is looking very happy although he recently got ipod touch). well if anybody considering having this phone then pleeeeeese go to shop and have a good look before it is too late like in my case (i just heard about it before odering it). 5800 lovers please don't curse me for this mail....just a personal opinion.thanx

    thats ur opinion,
ive used, the iphone, the storm, the bold, htc touch hd, the 5800, the touch pro, and the xperia,, the best for me wes the iphone then the touch hd, 5800 came next, then xperia, bold, touch pro and last the storm, the iphone and the touch hd, are just too epxensive for me so the 5800 fits nicely.

What phone did you get with this deal?

No phone, hence the credit. If I wanted the infamous 5800, then it would have been 25 quid, without the credit. Still a reasonable offer, but I went for the discount...
