I'd always go for the best possible phone if you are going to sign up for 18 months- the 5800 although new is still a relatively cheap phone SIM only. At 27 quid a month I'd go for the N96, after all I was offered an N95 for the equivalent of 400 quid a year on a 12 month deal:)!
Yeah I did think that, although they seemed to be playing hardball a bit! As you said for £27/month I'd want a very much top end phone over 18 months. To be honest I'd be happy with the 5800 at £20 month 600mins/1000txts as others have been offered. I think the offer I've had is very good in terms of 1200mins but no point in paying for what I won't use!!
I'll ring next week sometime, that offer if on my file for a week now, I'll go straight in for the PAC code and see what happens.0 -

Anyone offer any advice please?
I'm at the end of my 12 month contract, happy to keep my existing phone, so was after a decent sim only deal.
All I have been offered on sim only is what is on the website... nothing extra at all. If I keep my existing contract, then they will give me a 150 quid credit, but I want a discount... I'm even happy to sign a 12 month contract on sim only, but feel they are being tight without offering ANY discount at all to renew...?0 -

The Solo 20 from T-Mobile is the best deal out there at the moment- however O2 won't match this;).0 -
actually, they do, on 1 month, and 12...
well, nearly. They give you 1200 texts a month (1 month) or 1600 (12 month) which let's face it, is basically the same! And you can use the inclusive texts for picture messaging too.
But I would still expect something for paying over 40 quid a month for the last year and having home BB too!0 -

FYI as a benchmark, I have two o2 sim only deals.
- 600xmins and 1000 txts (24 months) - 6 months old
- 200xmins and 400 txts plus home broadband (8mb) and £85 credit (18 months) - 3 days old
Each costs me £10 per month.
I'm not sure how good a deal this is, but I find them both acceptable and I never get close to maxing them out, so it stays at £10 per month.0 -
well i got my deal at about 7.30pm today
free nokia 5800
600 mnts
unlimited texts
unlimited web browsing
£50 high street voucher
she mentioned the handset package which i am going to have will contain bluetooth headset (worth £80) as well........(may be you guys will also get it as standard)
can change Bolton after every 90 days.
she gave me all above with 2 options
1. £20.00x18 months = £360.00
2. £15.00x24 months = £360.00
so no prizes for guessing right which one i went for. YES, option 2 because i am going to get 6 months free line rental over option 1.
i agreed to this. my existing contract is ending on 25/02 but she said as soon as new deal is activated old one will be cancelled out and they will not charge me for the period between the activation of new deal and end date of existing contract. so in short from 25/01/09 - 10/02 (at the latest) they will send me the bill on my old rate £40/pm) and afterwards it will be calculated in acoordance with £15/pm. hope it is a help to you guys. go for it. intially i ask for PAC which they gave me without any offer. today i just called them with excuse that i am calling to have instructions, how to use my PAC, that was at about 5pm.. guy started talking about this phone he gave me option to have 400mnts+500texts/£15/pm. i said no thakyou. called at 7:30pm again using same excuse, third time lucky so got this deal. Oh yes, don't forget to mention some realistic (self made)Vodafone deal.you will be a winner. still trying to sort out Vodaphone contract for which i have got a PAC already.0 -
