Please advise
Currently on simplicity sim contract - want the c905 in a contract
Other shops such as mobiles.co.uk are offering 12 month contract for around £40 pounds a month - do o2 pricematch? - if not on a 12 month contract then do they discount 18 month contracts?0 -
Hi
My o2 contract ends on the 24th February. I currently pay £30 a month for 400 mins and 1000 texts. I would like a new phone and maybe a negotiation on the contract - I don't use that many texts or minutes but could trade some for internet downloads and browsing.
Where do I stand in terms of negotiation? The phones I'm looking at are the Samsung Pixon or the LG Renoir. Am i likely to be able to get one of those phones and be able to negotiate a cheaper monthly rate that's better suited to what i use?
Who should I be speaking to in order to get the best deal?
Thanks for any advice0 -
Wanted a sim only deal, phoned up yesterday and all they could offer me was the standard upgrade deals.
Phoned again today and got:
400 mins
2000 txts
Unlimited o2 to o2 calls
Unlimited data
£15/mo for 18 months + 150 credit -> £6.67/mo0 -
My sisters contract was up for renewal. I had a look around online and found that t-mobile had the c905 + unlimited texts + 800 mins for £31ish. Told her to quote that deal when she rung retentions.
She was offered unlimited text + 1200 mins + c905 for £27 a month, so it pays to have a look around to find the best deals from rival nets before ringing up!0 -
Hi all,
I have recently renewed my contact directly with o2 about 2 and a half weeks ago, however i've just recieved a call from carphone warehouse offering me exactly the same package for half the price. I rung o2 back to cancel but they say i only have a 14 day cooling off period, and i'm about 17 days over. I'm gutted to say the least!
Is there way i can cancel my new o2 contract without having to pay a cancellation fee?0 -
No.
But there is a silver lining - you won't be a customer of the cpw! (See the e2save problem threads)0 -

Yes, ebay works every time!
Didn't even have to ask for it - it was the first thing offered to me so I didn't argue too much!30th June 2021 completely debt free…. Downsized, reduced working hours and living the dream.0 -
As part of sorting my finances out I want to call Retentions and get a better deal on my mobile, but I’ve never rung them before. I wanted to ask for advice from you seasoned veterans on what to say and on what a good deal I should take would be, or what would be one I should turn down and try for better another time.
I have had a £30 a phone contract with O2 for 2-3 years and these days I very rarely call on it (1 or 2 very brief calls a week on average maybe), so it’s really not cost effective.
I could do with at a couple of hundred txts of so a month, 200ish minutes or a little less should be plenty. I want a Blackberry Bold (changed my mind from an iPhone for the keyboard) so free (unlimited?) internet access with Wi-Fi and 3G is a must too. Wouldn’t use the internet or downloads excessively, but it’d be nice to have.
What would be the lowest I could expect get the line rental down to? Would I be better to try for the Bold from them or take a £150 off as I believe I’ve heard said you can get and then to buy one for £280-300ish on ebay? Should I quote a deal from somewhere else to them and if so where offers good deals like this?
Also do you need to have a particular bolt-on and maybe pay extra for instant emails with Blackberries or is one or both of the normal web bolt-ons fine? I’d like to have access to the internet, but really have no need to instantly have them and I check my emails online on the web rather doing it outlook style anyway.
Thanks for any help/advice moneysavers!0
