They'd let you buy yourself out to get a PAC or do a normal upgrade, but they can't offer you a retention deal until you're out of contract.

Sit tight then it is :-( ....cheers
  • Been with O2 for one year (through e2save, £35 tariff), called today, got:

    Sim-only
    600 minutes
    1000 minutes
    Unlimited Web
    No headset, no discount
    £20 per month

Now looked on O2 website, this a standard O2 Simplicity tariff, which I would get even if I was not O2 customer ... should have looked before !

In fact, this is all I need (free wifi would be useful though), just realised the total cost is £240, and e2save called a week ago and offered the same tariff as above for £10pcm after cashback ...

Is there any way to get a better deal, I think they've moved me to the new tariff already (my contract was expiring today) ?

The T-Mobile Solo 20 is exactly the same apart from unlimited text instead of just 1000- I'd quote that to see if they can better it:).
  • i'm in the 12th month of a 12 month deal £35/ month 400 mins + 500 texts
full cash back deal through e2save( which, luckily went fine until now, waiting for the final cheque)

I have been browsing here and called up a couple of times, looking for a N95 8GB on a 18 month deal. i was given this after long chat

£25/month 600 mins 1000 text message free unlimited O2-O2 calls
I have seen people mentioning getting this deal for £20 per month along with unlimited internet bolt on, but they wont add or replace my bolt on even fr £25/ month.

people who have got good deals, any suggestions appreciated

    thanks in advance

skyjumper - I suspect you've been contacting e2save retentions for your deal? If so then try contacting O2 retentions directly instead as they appear to be offering the better deals you're reading about on this thread.

If it is O2 you've been talking to then just keep trying - it would appear persistence pays off
  • 4 months ago i was offered N95 silver for £21 a month with 400 min when my other contract was up for renewal..

three months down i have my second contract due for renewal and i am really after the n96.. as a new customer (with my corporate discount) i can get n96 for £24.50 (- vat difference @ 15%) 18 mth contract. i am looking to see if i can bring them down to £20 when it comes to it...

also would be really interesting to know if anyone has been offered n96... it is becoming fairly common now.. isnt it?

Well the remainder of the contract would be just over £100, im not too worried re this, however what im trying to establish is if o2 would ignore the 7months remaining on my contract to retain a customer.

well tbh i think you will be pushing it a little bit... if you give it another few months (say 3 months to your contract renewal) i am sure they'll do all they can to retain you

  • I need some advice. I've been on o2 PAYG for about 6 years and now want to go up to the o2 pay monthly. Do I have any leg to stand on for any sort of bartering? What is the best way to go about getting the best deal?

I like the Samsung G600 and I'd want it as a new phone. I want about 400 texts a month and over 100 minutes and don't really want to pay more than £25.

Any help would be much obliged.
