Was thinking of leaving O2 to Orange, as for £20 a month I was only getting 50 mins and 200 texts, my text sending has increased and I kept going over.
Orange were offering Dolphin 25 for £19.78 online, which included loads more minutes and unlimited texts with a lot of the phones free.
Called up O2 retentions and just renewed for another 18 months, with the following....
400 mins
2000 texts
Unlimited O2 to O2 calls
Sony Ericsson C902
Would normally be £30 a month, but got it for £18.
On my confirmation email it says 40% line rental discount, but I work that out to £12.So we will see.
Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £24,616.090 -
40% of 30 is 12 so 30-12 is £18 not £120

Tried today to see what I could get following my pre-christmas drop onto the discounted Simplicity (200mins, 400txts, £10/mth) tariff.
I exceeded my 400 txts last month but have free O2-O2 calls which is quite important as all my family are on O2.
I really wanted the Renoir with unlimited internet, but they couldn't budge below £25/mths with the Renoir free with the standard 600mins, 1000 texts and free internet. I tried negotiating lower mins and texts with free O2-O2 and additional bolt on for free internet but that came in at £27.50.
My top budget is £20/mth - am I being unrealistic to hope for the Renoir at £20 a month or less??0 -
OH negotiated a new contract yesterday. Was previously on 250 mins, 400 texts with 6300 for £15/month.
New deal:
18 month contract
400mins
1000 texts
£15 per month
£150 credit (for keeping existing phone)
So works out at £6.67 per month0 -
Just spoke to retentions and accepted this: 200 mins, 200 texts, 18 month contract, £150 credit to the account for £15 per month. Work out around £6.67 a month more than happy with this.0

Depends on the deal but I'd say that you'd have to pay 25 quid a month to get that phone. How long have you been with O2:)?0 -
About 9 years now, always on contract (originally on the old Genie tariff). To be fair, the guy I spoke to did offer me alternatives but I pushed for as much as possible with the Renoir as - apart from the iphone which I know is out of my budget - is the only other phone I fancy.
I might have a think - I've still got 4 months on the discounted Simplicity...0 -

If you can afford to say pay O2 50 quid for the upgrade they may honour it- if you are on SIM only the benchmark is now 600 mins / unlimited texts / unlimited internet on T-Mobile:). I'd take nothing less than that on even a twelve month deal for 25 quid with a mid range phone:).0 -
Hi, long time lurker - just registered and hope someone can answer the following questions:
My contract expires end of Feb and o2 have kindly informed me I can upgrade on the 30th Jan. I'm away for a while from Monday so would like to get upgrade sorted beforehand. The website mentions a 9.99 charge for delivery on a saturday, do they require this by credit/debit card or is it added to my bill?
Failing that, can I just pop into an O2 store and upgrade my exisiting contract there? My credit rating is currently shot to hell so I need to keep the same contract going, cannot start a new one.
Quite fancy the Iphone 3G. Do they do any additional credit checks if I upgrade to that mobile?
Sorry for rambling, any help appreciated.0 -
do not get the iphone - i bought it on payg and now going to return it. why you ask I hear, underneath that interface there is nothing else, the novelty wears off. quite like the nintendo wiii, I did like the app remote though but the iphone is expensive, overated but does BASIC things nicely thats all
could someone now answer my question please0
