I spoke to a very nice guy at o2 today and was offered:

    Free C905
    600 Minutes
    1000 texts
    Unlimited internet bolt-on
    12 months free broadband

    For £20 :)

Was this a 12 month or 18 month contract?

Thanks for the advise, but I think I understand most of the risks involved with cashback deals.

Yeah, on my previous deal, e2save tried saying that they didn't receive the bill, but after one phonecall, they managed to send me the cheque. I've got 3/4 so far- going to claim my final one next month. I reckon there is always going to be a bit of hassle with cashback deals, however the extremely cheap deal always seems to outweigh the problems.

Sounds like you've had the same experience as me. I'm also on my last claim (to be made at the end of this month).

Interestingly I received a call (well two calls) from e2save today trying to get me to upgrade through them. I quoted my new upgrade deal with O2 and they wouldn't even try to match it.

I said to them that it involves no cashback and unnessary hassle that they've given me this past year. Told them I wouldn't ever do a cashback deal with them or anyone anymore.

Well best of luck with your last claim and your next cashback deal with them.
  • Hello guys!

Been following this thread with interest. Need to cut costs as everyone else does.

Been with O2 for 3yrs, out of contract since June 07.

    Current plan:

1000 xnet mins/mth (rolls over so have about 4000 xnet now)
    150 texts
    1MB web browsing/mth
    costs £35/mth

I pretty much use up the 1000 minutes as I don't like texting much.

    Hello,

A quick Q, is it possible to get unlimited internet with my current deal? Been told it's impossible, that rollover would have to be dropped to accommodate internet. Allegedly ' not built to include internet'.

Looking very closely at other networks cos I fancy unlimited internet browsing as it comes in very handy.

If anyone's managed to get unlimited internet thrown in on a similar deal please let me know.

    Chattycathy, what do you think?

    Thanks.

Some of the older tariffs wont allow a bolt-on to be selected in the account so if you've been on it that long then its not likely that you can get it added.

You are better off going on to SIM only I reckon- 1000 mins would cost you between 20-30 quid a month depending on who you phone and what network they are on:).

i got simplicity online 30 through retentions for £25/month with that i get 1200 minutes, 1000 texts and free bolton (unlimited data) - so that would be a £10 saving/month for you. downside is you would lose your accrued rollover minutes and they would no longer accrue either (i don't think any of the networks are offering rollover on new contracts though)

Forgot to include the bit that said I was offered my old contract discounted to £20/month and £150 credit or new phone! Didn't want to quote a very long message I posted earlier (a few months ago).

wondering if I could get internet in addition but it seems it's not possible.....

Unless you have already said to O2 that you need the minutes then I'd quote the Solo 20 SIM only deal which has 600 mins/unlimited texts/unlimited internet for 20 quid;).

Ha ha! You're a mind reader. That's exactly what the retentions dude offered as an alternative.
