Thought i'd share what I got with o2 retentions after speaking to a nice gentleman called matt. Was previously on a 18month £30/month contract since august upgraded from £25/month before that.
Blackberry Bold- £49
600 mins
1000 texts
unlimited blackberry bolt on
35 tariff for £21/month
18month
Have been following this thread for awhile now, thanks for all your helpful posts! x0 -

They offered me a choice of c905, samsung pixon or n95 for 25 pounds per month with same deal 600 mins unlimited texts etc! So you should be able to get it for 25 ppm! Just quote my deal if they don't offer it
and i got them to add 200 extra minutes. You may even be able to get it down more but they said no to me as i've only been with them for afew month ands sim only. also its an 18month contract.. only bad thing.
id say you were jsut very lucky-getting that deal when youve only been with them since sep on a sim ony contract? you must have had a very nice person who was ina good mood as i thin thats the best deal ive ever heard of!What goes around-comes around0 -
Yeah, keep trying. I tried 4 times, then gave in and accepted a poor sim-only deal.
But now after searching, I just found a great cashback deal 200 mins/200 texts with a T303i, works out to be £6.67 on e2save.
I would be very careful with any cashback deals with e2save. Search on here for the e2save thread and you'll see that this is a company that will do anything to not pay you the cashback.
My first two cashback claims were sent Recorded Delivery and on both occasions e2save said that they never received them. Luckily I was within the 30 day time limit when I contacted them and had to send them a fax of the recorded delivery number and my O2 bill. They paid both times.
On my third claim, I again sent it Recorded but after a week I sent them an e-mail with my recorded delivery number, stating that it had been received by them according to Royal Mail, and asked them to confirm that it was being processed. They had no option but to confirm and my cheque arrived on time (for the first time).
I've only got one more claim to make but as I've stated already in my previous post I've been offered a great upgrade deal so I won't ever trust any cashback sites anymore.
Just my story but read the thread it is an eye opener!0 -
Got offered nothing when i rang up. Where you with O2 before? Might try again tomorrow.
Ring 02 and press 3 i think for cancellations. say i want to cancel. and theyll be like oh is there any way 02 can make you stay.. etc say i want sont c905 on a good deal. they should discount 10 pounds off the monthl 35 pound but keep your simplicity tarriff.0 -
Hey people!
Just wanted some opinions...
Ive been an O2 PAYG customer for some years now. I have just come back from living in the rainforest for a few months and decided to sort out my phone situation now im back as my phone is dead! Looked on here for some advice and rang retentions....was made 2 offers....are they good? Which should i do?!
Free N95 8GB
400 mins, 500txts, 1 bolt (unltd web)
£20/mth 18mth
Then i was shocked....next week i can get....
Free iPhone 8GB (reconditioned)
600 mins, 500txts
unlimited data and wifi
£35/mth 18mth contract
Is this iphone deal that good?!
My iPod is also in need of renewal, so should i get an iphone now?!
Which deal would all you go for?!
Bear in mind im only a PAYG customer....so am i getting a really good offer there?! Advice and opinions appreciated! Thanks0 -
just rang and got
600 mins / 1000 txts,
unlimited web bolt on,
Free Nokia N95 8GB
£25/month - seems to be very similar deal to what you're all getting lately. I think i'm happy with that anyway0 -

Personally I would go for a SIM only contract at first instead of being tied down to a contract. They both look like standard upgrades- nothing too special. I'd quote the T-Mobile SIM only offer of 20 quid for 600 mins/unlimited texts/unlimited internet and see if O2 can match that.0 -
I changed tarif back in November because I felt I wasn't getting the best deal, and after a few calls to O2 retentions I managed to get a version of their simplicity 15 tariff with unlimited free O2 to O2 calls, 200 free minutes and 400 free texts per month and a 30 day rolling contract. They also gave me a £5 discount off the tariff for the first 6 months so i'm actually only paying £10 a month at the moment.
I was really hoping to get unlimited texts - something currently offered by Orange and T-mobile on similar tariffs. But O2 really wouldn't budge on this at the time I was calling. Do you think it's worth me trying again and quoting the T-mobile Solo 15 deal which currently gives 350 minutes and unlimited texts for £15? What do people think?0 -
My Husband has just renewed his contact with O2, has got a Nokia 6500 Classic on 18th month contract, 400 mins & 1000 texts for £15 a month... This was to "price match" another company (internet), but actually beat it as the other company was £15 a month taking into account cash redeemptions and was 400 mins & 500 texts...:snow_laug0

Thanks for the advise, but I think I understand most of the risks involved with cashback deals.
Yeah, on my previous deal, e2save tried saying that they didn't receive the bill, but after one phonecall, they managed to send me the cheque. I've got 3/4 so far- going to claim my final one next month. I reckon there is always going to be a bit of hassle with cashback deals, however the extremely cheap deal always seems to outweigh the problems.0
