Hi we are coming to the end of an 18 month contract that my teenager uses. He is on £35 per month 750 mins 750 texts and manages to go over nearly every month partly because the online checker is so far behind, but also because he is a motormouth!
I think we will probably cancel as we don't want another long contact but might try retentions first. In your experience folks what would be a good offer? I don't think he needs a new phone really. Do they offer no phone, more minutes for less money without a long contract do you know? I think we will go Orange sim only but O2 might be woth a shot first. If we leave they will probably go out of business as the billl have been HUGE!!
Thank you.0 -
Hi
I have 2 contracts with 02 and changed to the simplicity last week for both. Both now I want to go with Virgin £10 a month. The one phone is what my sister in law took over from my daughter over a year ago but is still under my name. ( She also wants to change to virign media) as we are both customers.
Do I phone up and cancel the both contracts together or phone separately. I am hoping they will give us a goood deal.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated;)Lightbulb Moment - January 2008

You may as well do it together as they are both under your name. I take it you don't really want to move to Virgin then
Ive been offered 500 minutes, 1000 texts, unlimited 02 to 02, a new SE phone (not the one I want - yet) plus £75 cashback for £15 a month. Going to call back on Fri and see if they can give me the phone I want - they said they should have it in stock then.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Saving me £5  I phoned back and went straight through to cancellations department and got W880i, 18 month contract, 400 mins, 500 texts, unlimited 02 to 02 for £15. I renewed with O2 today - got a free Sony Ericsson W580i, 75 anytime minutes & 250 texts per month, for £10 per month. But the part I like most is that they also gave me £75 credit on my account - so I don't pay anything for the first 7 & 1/2 months!! :T
I know it's not the latest phone, but I was more concerned with bringing my tariff down to something more suited to my usage.0 -
This is a question to anyone who is on a tariff such as 500 mins 500texts (400 texts added free); any tariff that has been custom made by adding Free of Charge (FOC) text bolt-ons.
Does the (400) text bolt-on drop off/expire after the minimum term contract (18 months) so that you only get the the base tariff (which in this case would be 500 mins, 100 texts)?
Thanks in advance.0 -
Horsepills I got a similar deal to yours when I called back yesterday, but the woman I spoke to really wasn't happy that I had been offered a new free phone and cashback :rotfl:she said it was an inappropriate deal and I was really lucky to have been offered it
I got an SE 850i, 400 mins, 1000 texts, unlimited 02 to 02 and £50 cashback on 18 month contract, so works out at £12.20 a month - newer phone, more free allowance for £8 less a month I am paying now :money:and I know it is really unlikely I will ever use more than that :TI have had many Light Bulb Moments. Just coming to end of another O2 contract - I'm on a retention 250 + 200Mb data deal at about £22/month. O2 chipped in an free N70 at the start of contract.
What can I unreasonably ask for not to walk? N95 8GB or account credit?0 -
Hi i've been reading this thread and am posting in the hope of getting a bit of advice/assurance.
Rang O2 about 20 mins ago to cancel my rolling sim only contract because i'm going in hospital for a major op and am now not working.
The girl offered me 12 months paying nothing because of my special circumstances and £3 credit per month for any emergency calls. I've agreed as long as I get it in writing and I have a cooling off period.
1) Do they do this for special circumstances?
2) What happens at the end of 12 months? Will I be somehow tied in or will they hit me with a big bill????
Feeling quite cynical and a bit apprehensive! HELP!2013 wins: Valentine's book giveaway:T0 -
I phoned to cancel today and got offered 400 minutes,1000 texts unlimited 02 to 02 a new sony k850i all for £15 a month.
Was originally on 50 free minutes 200 free texts and paying £20 a month so i get a lot more free allowance for £5 a month less and a brand new phone.0
