Good old o2.
Apparently when I changed my contract due to the 0870 changes I didn't actually sign up to Simplicity, only the 'benefits'. I thought being on a 1 month contract was one of the benefits?
So now they're saying I still have 6 months left of the previous 18 month contract I thought I'd got out of. He says on my notes I agreed to this but I don't see why I would? Why would I call and haggle for a worse contract? Supposedly it's been recorded and he's fishing it out and calling me back. I'll be angry if he claims i did agree to it.0 -
Apparently "it was made clear to you that this was a continuation of your contract..blah.blah.blah". I really doubt this, I agreed to Simplicity. Going to call them again. ::fume::0

Ok, still won't budge. So i've changed to the lowest tarriff with no bolt-ons and i'm going to pay £50 to cancel and never use them again.0

I just dialled 202 from my 02 phone and got put through to retentions department. I would really sugest not to demand or ask for anything.....just find a deal like that is better than yours (go to onecompare.com) and quote that. The other deal was from Orange.
Let me know what they say!
P.S...........just imagine if i could quote properly!
202 or 2020? Going to try again tomorrow. Aint going to demand anything, just be polite and see what they say. Then just repeat ad nauseum until they give me what i want:D
Will have a look on onecompare later today tho to see what the alternatives are, as it always worth having something to barter with. I still think as my monthly spend aint that high they are holding out on me tho.0 -
yeah well just try and look like you're open rather than just 'ratting' around for a good deal. it is 202, a number that is free of charge on 02 phones. my girlfriend is doing same tmra so hoping she will cut hers too!!CC £1700/£1477 HSBC Acc. £-1750/£400Barclay Acc. £-2009/£-1280 / A & L Acc. £-908 £0!! / Finance £-1008 £-590 / Loan £8000 £8000(JANUARY 09 DEBT/ NOW)0

has anybody got a 12months contract for the N95 8gb phone ............ as a retention package??Berba0

Well, I'm not happy with o2. I originally upgraded to a Nokia E65 with 800 mins, 2000 text messages and o2 long weekends at a cost of £25 a month (18 month contract). I was not happy with the phone and returned it, and was sent a N95 black instead. I emphasised at the time that despite being on a £40 tariff, this was being discounted by £15 a month and I was told this would continue. However, today I received a bill of over £40 and called o2, who told me that the line rental discount doesn't apply to my N95 black. I am really annoyed as I specifically checked when I upgraded and was told that nothing would change in terms of my billing, line rental discounts, etc., just my handset. I have been offered two options: pay £40 a month and keep the handset or return the handset (today) and get a cheaper one.
Update: I called back and spoke to somebody in customer services. Once I had explained the situation to him, he spoke to his manager and they straight away offered to add the £15 a month line rental discount for 18 months from my next bill. So I will still have to pay the inflated charges for the past two bills (£55 and £40) but it all sort of balances out over the next 18 months. Thank you customer services!0 -
rang o2 retentions about 10 minutes ago, im on the o2 simplicity £15 tarrif, she told me that as im a "valued customer" i could have :

Hi all
I am coming to the end of a 12 months O2 contract via CPW with 400 mins and 100text @ £35.
I want the N95 8GB to renew and the best they are offering me is a free n95 8gb, 600 mins 500 text, web bolt add on 18 month contract at £35.
Can I do better?0
