Thats pretty darn decent! Im hoping I manage to get something similar when my contract runs out in april. Currently on £35 a month for 600 mins, unlimited texts and a free 6500 slide (sold the handset when I got it though)

Currently pay £20 pcm on O2 50 Double contract, receive 100 mins and 125 texts. Paltry I know.

When I ring up, I'm hoping to quote the Dolphin 25 or T Mobile Solo deal. Before I do ring though, is there any chance of me getting mobile broadband as part of the deal and/or web browsing. I want the Nokia N95 8GB.

    Thanks

I was quoted the other day (not by retentions but by the upgrades dept) the following deal which you might be interested in:
    Free N95 8Gb
    600mins
    1000txt
    1 bolt-on (I wanted the unlimited web)
    £20/mth - 18mths

@ Buckster - I quoted the T-mobile solo 15 deal which offers 350 mins, unlimited texts + 2 months free with cashback (quidco) and they immediately matched it with the 400 mins+1000 texts+unlimited o2-o2 for £15 and promised £150 credit as they were locking me into an 18 month deal without a new phone.

@ hc_1540 - I was on a £35/month, 12 month contract giving 400 mins + 500 texts (was through e2save with cashback so didn't really pay anything but had the cashback hassle).

    Thanks for the info, Curlywurly.

Just called retentions and quoted your offer and they've matched it , so I got:
    400 mins
    1000 texts
    Unlimited Web Bolt-On
    £150 credit
    £15 a month.

Works out at £6.67 a month over the 18 months!

cashback or credit or direct discount?
  • um the guy just said they would take £5 out of my bank account so it couldn't be cashback I suppose - I taped the conversation in case anyone tried to deny it later!

    How would you do it?
Do you need special equipment ?

I have thought about myself but I can't see using your moble phone to record the conversation would really work.

If I did I would tell whomever I was that I'm recording this conversation for training purposes!
  • lol I can tape whoever I like and do all the time for mystery shopping!!!It's brilliant, it means I can be very exact about what has been said. I use a little digital recorder bought in maplins made by olympus - it has a usb connection and I can download straight onto the pc. There is a lead which one end goes into its mic socket and the other end does into a regular phone double adapter. (I have only used it on a landline)
I paid £90 ish for this one but have seen similar just before christmas in lidl for £25.
As far as I know you do have to say they are being recorded if you want to use it in a court of law BUT if its just for your own purposes then its ok.

Anyway, its been enough on plenty of occasions just to give a transcript verbatim - you should see how well it works.
