Hi. I am a bit confused by all this (i'm not a techy person!). I have an o2 phone and the 18 month contract is up in April. I have had people ringing me and telling me they will buy me out - but you have to go through another credit check. I am happy with o2 and am wondering how soon i can get an upgrade or retention (im not sure what retention is!!), without going through another credit check.
Sorry for being a dope!:o
i dont mind cpw fonin me but the other 'private' or 'random' number scammers im not interested in. and was thinking of complaining to cpw, as they woulda got my details from them...0 -
I just renewed my contract with O2 (CPH). I was previously on a £35 per month (12 month contract) 400min, 500 texts, Free Sony Ericsson k800i
Here's the deal I got.
£35 per month (18 month contract), 600mins, 1000 texts, Unlimited data, Free Sony Ericsson C905, £150 cashback (£50 each on 6th, 12th, 18th month). Overall £26.66 per month, with the hassle of getting cashback.
 A couple of things come to mind, which I should have brought up while speaking to the O2 (CPH) retentions operator before agreeing to the deal.
1/ I should have asked for lower tariff with less minutes as I never use more than 300min per month.
2/ I should have included the £40 cashback from topcashback.co.uk on top of the £140 from mobiles.co.uk in the deal I told the retentions teams I had found.
3/ I should have asked for free itemised billing
I hope this helps.0 -

12 month contract is back.....
I got XDA ZEST with 200 min, 250 text,1500 offpeak min for 15 pound.
but zest battery is not that great so planing to return and cancel the contract.....
any suggestion or help appreciated0 -
I was offered and accepted the following retention deal today:
200 mins
400 text
unlimited 02-02
free itemised billing
£10 a month
£100 credit
18 month contract, works out at £4.44 a month.
(was also offered 75 mins and 250 texts for under £3 a month).
For another [identical] contract I renewed 3 days ago, all they could do was the same mins and texts as above, but £15 a month plus £150 credit, overall £6.67 a month. The crazy thing is, when I was offered the £4.44 deal today, I mentioned my other renewal and the guy told me there was absolutely nothing better he could do, even though I was in the 14 day cooling off period, as apparently the retention budget is allocated on a contract by contract basis and depends on your usage patterns. The contract I renewed today only used 25 mins or so a month, mostly on calls to O2, and this apparently was one reason why the retention budget was higher.0 -

The O2 (CPH) customer services number is 0870 1117200. Not sure if it's free calling from an O2 phone. You'll get a few results if searching for this number on http://www.saynoto0870.com/numbersearch.phpHey there, mind if i asked for the number for the o2 cpw? I'd do a search but my browser/connection doesn't seem to like me very much today
Also, is it free to call from my o2 phone? I was thinking of getting an xperia...know of any good deal anyone? The dedicated thread seemed to have died away...0 -

Many thanks for that! Will have a look later today. Not really fit to talk on the phone though. Bad case of cough that feels as though I might cough my lungs out! Lol.0 -

My 02 contract come to an end on January 3rd. At that point I will have been with them for 36 months. My last 18 month contract has been 500 mins with 100 texts a month (don't really text much). For this I got 6 months free, 12 months at £15 a month and the last 6 months has been £30 a month. This has been quite annoying condering how much better the deals are out there now.
I don't need a new handset, I'm fine with the one I've got. Anyway I have just rung 02 and asked them for a good deal, something similar to my 500 mins and 100 txts but at a lot cheaper cost. Spoke to really annoying person who said the simplicity deal sounded a more appropriate tariff. That I could get 200 mins and 400 txts with unlimited 02 calls for £15 a month.
I ended up putting the phone down. I've been a loyal customer for 3 years, paid my bill on time every month and they can't offer me decent deal. Thought I would have been given a credit offer as I don't need a new phone and was expecting my current contract at about £10 a month. Should I ring back at try and haggle some more?0
